BAFTA TV Craft Awards Nominations Announced

This year’s awards ceremony will take place at the Brewery, London, on Sunday, April 28, and will be hosted for the seventh time by Stephen Mangan. Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the HBO documentary It’s a Hard Truth Ain’t It. The album features the film’s original music composed by Andrew Hollander (Waitress, Sleepwalk with Me, My Friend Dahmer, Labor Pains). The soundtrack will be released digitally on April 5 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. It’s a Hard Truth Ain’t It is directed by Madeleine Sackler and follows 13 incarcerated men as they study filmmaking as a vehicle to explore their memories and how they ended up with decades-long sentences. Michael Yezerski (Blindspotting, Mr. InbetweenThe Devil’s Candy) is composing the original music for the upcoming crime thriller The Tax Collector. The film is written and directed by David Ayer (Suicide Squad, End of Watch, Fury, Bright) and stars Shia LaBeouf, Bobby Soto, George Lopez, Brendan Schaub and Lana Parrilla. No plot details have been announced. Ayer is also producing the Cross Creek Pictures and Cedar Park Entertainment production with Chris Long (Mr. Mercedes, Rogue). Read the rest of this entry »

Varese Sarabande will release the first soundtrack album for the AMC original series The Son. The album features selections of the original music from the show composed by Emmy Award nominee Nathan Barr (True Blood, The Americans, The House with a Clock in Its Walls, Hostel, Cabin Fever). Also included are three original vocal performances, including one from Billy F. Gibbons of ZZ Top. The soundtrack will be released on April 26 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Son is created by Philipp Meyer, Lee Shipman & Brian McGreevy and stars Pierce Brosnan, Henry Garrett, Zahn McClarnon, Jess Weixler, Paola Núñez, Elizabeth Frances and Sydney Lucas. Joseph Bishara is returning as the composer for the upcoming horror sequel Annabelle Comes Home. The film marks the directorial debut of Gary Dauberman (It, The Nun) who scripted the previous two Annabelle movies and stars McKenna Grace, Madison Iseman, Katie Sarife, Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga. The third installment in the Annabelle series follows the daughter of paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warre (from The Conjuring franchise) who is targeted alongside her two teen babysitters by the demonic doll after they bring it home into their artifact room. Milan Records will release a soundtrack album for the drama Native Son. The album features the film’s original music composed by Kyle Dixon & Michael Stein (Stranger Things, Valley of the Boom, Butterfly). The soundtrack will be released digitally on April 5 and will be available to download here. Native Son directed by Rashid Johnson and stars Ashton Sanders, Margaret Qualley, Bill Camp, Nick Robinson, KiKi Layne, Elizabeth Marvel, David Alan Grier and Sanaa Lathan. The movie is based on the classic novel by Richard Wright and follows a young African-American man who takes a job working for a highly influential Chicago family, a decision that will change the course of his life forever. Atlantic Records has released the original song Broken & Beautiful performed by Kelly Clarkson, the first track from the soundtrack for the animated musical UglyDolls. Mark Isham (Crash, Once Upon a Time, A River Runs Through It, The Accountant, Fly Away Home) is scoring the upcoming family drama A Dog’s Journey. The film is directed by Gail Mancuso and stars Marg Helgenberger, Betty Gilpin, Henry Lau, Kathryn Prescott, Dennis Quaid, as well as Josh Gad as the voice of the title character. The movie is the sequel to 2017’s A Dog’s Purpose (scored by Rachel Portman) follows dog Bailey as he finds his new destiny and forms an unbreakable bond that will lead him, and the people he loves, to places they never imagined. Mark Mothersbaugh (The LEGO Movie, The Royal Tenenbaums, 21/22 Jump Street, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs) is composing the original score for the new FX original series What We Do in the Shadows. The show is created by Jemaine Clement based on Taika Waititi’s 2014 feature of the same title and stars Matt Berry, Kayvan Novak, Natasia Demetriou, Harvey Guillén and Mark Proksch. The comedy is based on the feature film of the same name from Jemaine Clement & Taika Waititi and looks into the daily (or rather, nightly) lives of four vampires who’ve “lived” together for hundreds of years. Decca Records will release the official soundtrack album for the new Netflix docu-series Our Planet. The album features the original music from the show composed by Academy Award winner Steven Price (Gravity, Suicide Squad, Fury, Baby Driver). Also included is the original song In This Together co-written by Price & Ellie Goulding. The soundtrack will be released digitally and physically on April 5 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon.
