La-La Land Records has announced the world premiere release of the original score from the 1993 thriller Sliver directed by Phillip Noyce and starring Sharon Stone, William Baldwin and Tom Berenger. The album features the original music from the Paramount Pictures production composed by Academy Award winner Howard Shore (The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, The Aviator, The Silence of the Lambs, Hugo). Also included are four bonus tracks of additional music by Christopher Young (Spider-Man 3, Hellraiser, The Hurricane, Drag Me to Hell). ASCAP has announced the winners of the 2020 ASCAP Screen Music Awards, recognizing its top film, television and video game composers. The accolades will take place with the hashtag #ASCAPAwards on ASCAP’s Facebook, Twitter, and on Instagram @ASCAP and @ASCAPScreen. Each winner will be honored in a post that enables fans, friends and peers to join in congratulating the music creators that bring their favorite onscreen entertainment to life. This year’s Top Box Office Film honor went to Hans Zimmer for The Lion King remake. Siddhartha Khosla won Top Network Series award for NBC’s This Is Us, and Ruth Barrett took home the Top Cable Series honor for her score to the British series Victoria. Soundtrack Album for Netflix’s ‘FightWorld’ Announced

Composer Tyler Bates (Guardians of the Galaxy, Deadpool 2, 300, John Wick, Dawn of the Dead, Watchmen) will release his original soundtrack for the Netflix docu-series FightWorld. The album features the show’s original music by Bates who recorded his score at Capitol Studios in Hollywood with an all-star group of Los Angeles’ best musicians who improvised all of the music while reacting to picture. Lin-Manuel Miranda to Compose Music for Disney Animated Musical ‘Encanto’

Lin-Manuel Miranda has confirmed in an interview on today’s Good Morning America that he has been working on the music for a new animated feature from Walt Disney Animation Studios. The movie, which has the working title Encanto according to The Disinsider will be directed by Byron Howard (Tangled, Bolt) and Jared Bush (Zootopia). The animated musical will take place in Colombia and revolves around a young girl and her family. Charise Castro Smith serves as a co-director on the project. The film is written and directed by Aaron Sorkin (The West Wing, The Social Network) and stars Sacha Baron Cohen, Eddie Redmayne, Jeremy Strong, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Frank Langella, Michael Keaton and Mark Rylance. The movie tells the story of the Chicago 7, a group of activists who were charged by the federal government with conspiracy, inciting to riot and other charges stemming from anti-Vietnam War protests that broke out during the 1968 Democratic National Convention. Sony Masterworks has released the first track from the soundtrack for Francois Ozon’s coming-of-age drama Summer of 85 (Été 85). JB Dunckel (K.O., Capital in the Twenty-First Century, The Summer of Sangaile, Cyprien) of AIR has composed the film’s original music.
