Premiering in the U.S. tonight is the reboot of the classic detective series Van der Valk written by Chris Murray and starring Marc Warren, Maimie McCoy, Elliot Barnes-Worrell, Darrell D’Silva and Emma Fielding. The show’s original music is composed and conducted by Matthijs Kieboom (Wild, Bloody Marie). All3Media has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score earlier this year when the drama premiered in the UK. Premiering tomorrow, September 14, is the HBO limited series The Third Day created by Felix Barrett & Dennis Kelly, directed by Marc Munden and Philippa Lowthorpe and starring Jude Law, Naomie Harris, Katherine Waterston, Paddy Considine, Emily Watson, Nico Parker and Charlotte Gairdner-Mihell. Cristobal Tapia de Veer (Utopia, The Girl with All the Gifts, Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency) and Dickon Hinchliffe (Winter’s Bone, Locke, Out of the Furnace) have composed the show’s original music. ‘Savage’ Soundtrack Album Released

Loop Recordings Aot(ear)oa has released a soundtrack album for the crime drama Savage. The album features the film’s original music composed by Arli Liberman. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download here. Savage is written and directed by Sam Kelly and stars Jake Ryan, John Tui and Chelsie Preston Crayford. The movie is inspired by true stories of New Zealand’s street gangs and follows the main character at three critical moments in his life as he grows from a boy into the violent enforcer of a gang. Leo Birenberg (Cobra Kai, Son of Zorn) has recently been scoring DreamWorks Animation’s new Netflix original series Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous. The show starring Paul-Mikél Williams, Jenna Ortega, Sean Giambrone, Raini Rodriguez, Ryan Potter and Kausar Mohamme follows a group of six teenagers who are invited to attend a state-of-the-art adventure camp on Isla Nublar and must band together to survive when the dinosaurs break out of captivity. Scott Kreamer (Pinky Malinky, Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness) and Lane Lueras serve as the project’s showrunners and are also executive producing the DreamWorks Animation, Amblin Entertainment and Legendary Television production with Steven Spielberg, Frank Marshall and Colin Trevorrow. Capitol Records Nashville has released the original song Without a Net from the documentary Stuntwomen: The Untold Hollywood Story. The track, which is written by Academy Award-nominated songwriter Diane Warren and performed by country music singer/songwriter Mickey Guyton, is now available to stream/download as a digital single on Amazon. Stuntwomen: The Untold Hollywood Story is directed by April Wright, narrated by Michelle Rodriquez and chronicles the lives of women who perform the stunts in some of Hollywood’s biggest action sequences – from the early days of silent movies to today’s blockbusters. The only movie opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the romantic comedy The Broken Hearts Gallery written and directed by Natalie Krinsky and starring Geraldine Viswanathan, Dacre Montgomery, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Suki Waterhouse, Molly Gordon, Phillipa Soo, Arturo Castro, Taylor Hill, Ego Nwodim and Bernadette Peters. The film’s original music is composed by Genevieve Vincent (In the Key of Love, A Gift to Cherish). Sony Classical has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today. Already playing in select theaters since this past Wednesday before premiering on Amazon Prime on September 18 is the documentary All In: The Fight for Democracy directed by Liz Garbus & Lisa Cortés about the issue of voter suppression in the United States. Gil Talmi (The Great Hack, Savannah, Desert Migration) has composed the film’s original score and Meshell Ndegeocello (Queen Sugar, Lackawanna Blues) has provided additional music. The movie also features an original song, Turntables co-written and performed by Janelle Monáe, which was released earlier this week. 2020 World Soundtrack Awards Nominations Announced

The World Soundtrack Academy has announced the nominees for the 2020 World Soundtrack Awards in all categories , including Film Composer of the Year, TV Composer of the Year and Best Original Song Written Directly for a Film. The winners will be announced at the 20th anniversary edition of the World Soundtrack Awards, which will be be an online edition, live-streamed from Kinepolis Ghent on October 24, 2020. Among the previously announced guests at the ceremony are Alexandre Desplat, record holder of the World Soundtrack Film Composer of the Year Award, Gabriel Yared, who will receive a Lifetime Achievement, and Michael Abels, Discovery of the Year 2019. Earth Recordings has released the first-ever soundtrack album for Dennis Hopper’s 1971 drama The Last Movie directed and edited by Hopper, written by Stewart Stern and starring Peter Fonda, Dean Stockwell, Stella Garcia, Don Gordon,, Julie Adams, Sylvia Miles, Samuel Fuller, Russ Tamblyn, Tomas Milian, Toni Basil, Severn Darden, Henry Jaglom, Rod Cameron and Michelle Phillips. The album features the world premiere release of the Me and Bobby McGee performance by Kris Kristofferson (who also appears in the film), the country-folk songs from John Buck Wilkin, as well as the Peruvian folk & dance music from the movie. The soundtrack will be released digitally next Friday, September 18 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Z is co-written and directed by Brandon Christensen (Still/Born) and stars Keegan Connor Tracy, Jett Klyne, Sean Rogerson, Sara Canning and Stephen McHattie.
