La-La Land Records has announced the world premiere soundtrack release for the 1969 western Death of a Gunfighter directed by Robert Totten & Don Siegel and starring Richard Widmark and Lena Horne. The album, which is being released as part of the Universal Pictures Film Music Classics Collection , features the film’s original music composed by Oliver Nelson (Zig Zag, Ironside, Night Gallery, The Six Million Dollar Man). Also included is (premiere release of) the composer’s score for the 1970 adventure drama Skullduggery directed by Gordon Douglas and starring Burt Reynolds and Susan Clark. The CD is limited to 1,500 copies and will be available to order on the label’s official website at noon today.

Remastered ‘Rio Conchos’ Soundtrack Album Announced
Intrada Records has announced a remastered version of the 2013 soundtrack album for the 1964 western Rio Conchos directed by Gordon Douglas and starring Richard Boone, Stuart Whitman, Anthony Franciosa and Edmond O’Brien. The album features the re-recorded original score from the film composed and conducted by Academy Award winner Jerry Goldsmith (The Omen, Chinatown, Planet of the Apes, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Patton, Papillon, L.A. Confidential) and performed by the London Symphony Orchestra. Also included is the composer’s re-recording of his Prologue cue written for the 1965 film The Agony and the Ecstasy. The CD is now available to order on the label’s official website until June 21 (or while supplies last).
