Brian Tyler (Fast & Furious, Iron Man 3, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Crazy Rich Asians, Now You See Me) & John Carey are returning as the composer of the upcoming horror sequel Escape Room 2. The film is directed by Adam RobitelĀ (Insidious: The Last Key, The Taking of Deborah Logan) and stars Taylor Russell and Logan Miller who reprise their roles from the original 2019 movie. They are joined by new cast members Isabelle Fuhrman, Thomas Cocquerel, Holland Roden, Carlito Olivero and Indya Moore. No plot details have been announced yet. Will Honley (Bloodline) and Maria Melnik & Daniel Tuch wrote the screenplay. Neal H. Moritz (S.W.A.T., Sonic the Hedgehog) is producing the project. Tyler’s & Carey’s score from the original film is available on Sony Classical. Escape Room 2 is set to be released in theaters nationwide on July 16, 2021 by Sony Pictures.

Tyler’s other upcoming projects include Justin Lin’s F9 (to be released in U.S. theaters on June 25), Taylor Sheridan’s Those Who Wish Me Dead (coming out in theaters and on HBO Max on May 14), as well as the fourth season of Yellowstone and D.J. Caruso’s Redeeming Love (co-scored with Breton Vivian).
