The film is written and directed by Steve Byrne and stars Jimmy O. Yang, Alex Moffat, Cedric The Entertainer, Neal Brennan, Ken Jeong, Jermaine Fowler, Debby Ryan, Bill Burr and Russell Peters. Film Fest Ghent has announced the album World Soundtrack Awards: Tribute to the Film Composer, which features newly recorded pieces by all winners of the festival’s Film Composer of the Year Award, including Angelo Badalamenti, Nicholas Britell, Carter Burwell, Mychael Danna, Alexandre Desplat, Patrick Doyle, Michael Giacchino, Elliot Goldenthal, James Newton Howard, Alberto Iglesias, Jóhann Jóhannsson, John Williams and Gabriel Yared. Among the tracks is the premiere release of the main title track from Fear by Burwell and a suite from the unused score of Troy by Yared. Also included is the first-ever release of the World Soundtrack Awards Fanfare written by Elmer Bernstein and Tribute to the Film Composer, as well as an homage arranged by John Williams that brings together 23 different Oscar-winning or Oscar-nominated film themes. Howard Shore (The Lord of the Rings, The Aviator, The Silence of the Lambs, The Departed, Hugo, The Hobbit) has revealed on the latest episode of Score: The Podcast that he has completed his score for the upcoming drama Funny Boy. The film directed by Deepa Mehta (Water, Earth, Fire, Beeba Boys) is based on the bestselling novel of the same name by Arjie Chelvaratnam and tells the story a young boy coming to terms with his sexual identity just as political tensions escalate in Sri Lanka in the years leading up to the 1983 riots. Lionsgate Records has released a full soundtrack album for the Starz original series P-Valley. The album features the songs from the show’s first season performed by J. Alphonse Nicholson,  Jucee Froot’s opening titles song Down in the Valley, as well as tracks by FM NEW MONEY, Tokyo Vanity, Alan Scoop, Harriett D. Foy and Lil’ Bad Cuzzin. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download here. The label has previously released a number of digital singles and EPs featuring the songs from each episode over the last couple of weeks. P-Valley is created by Katori Hall and stars Brandee Evans, Nicco Annan, Shannon Thornton, Parker Sawyers, Nicholson, Foy, Skyler Joy, Tyler Lepleym Elarica Johnson and Dan J. Johnson. The show’s original music is composed by Jeff Russo (FargoStar Trek: Discovery & Picard, The Night Of, LegionThe Umbrella Academy) who previously scored all episodes of the original Power series. Premiering tomorrow, September 7 is DreamWorks Animation’s new TV series Madagascar: A Little Wild executive produced by Johanna Stein & Dana Starfield and starring Tucker Chandler, Amir O’Neil, Shaylin Becton, Luke Lowe, Jasmine Gatewood and Eric Petersen. Frederik Wiedmann (The Dragon Prince, The Green Lantern: The Animated Series, Hangman) who has previously scored DreamWorks Animation TV’s All Hail King Julien is composing the show’s original music. The series, which follows young versions of Alex, Marty, Gloria & Melman from the Madagascar franchise, as they grow up in New York City, will be available to stream on Hulu and Peacock. Quartet Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1976 adventure movie Swashbuckler directed by James Goldstone and starring Robert Shaw, James Earl Jones, Peter Boyle, Geneviève Bujold, Beau Bridges and Geoffrey Holder. The 2-CD set features the original music from the Universal Pictures production composed and conducted by Academy Award winner John Addison (A Bridge Too Far, Tom Sawyer, Sleuth, Torn Curtain, The Seven-Per-Cent Solution), including the composer’s expanded score, as well alternate cues on the first disc and the (remastered) content of the original soundtrack album on the second disc. Edizioni Curci has released a soundtrack album for the Italian drama Padrenostro. The album features the film’s original music composed by Ratchev & Carratello (aka Stefano Ratchev & Mattia Carratello). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon, where you can also check out the full track list. Padrenostro is co-written and directed by Claudio Noce and stars Pierfrancesco Favino, Mattia Garaci, Barbara Ronchi, Francesco Gheghi, Francesco Colella and Antonio Gerardi. The only movie opening in theaters nationwide this week is the spy thriller Tenet written and directed by Christopher Nolan and starring John David Washington, Robert Pattinson, Elizabeth Debicki, Clémence Poésy, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Dimple Kapadia,  Michael Caine, Kenneth Branagh and Himesh Patel. The film’s original music is composed by Ludwig Göransson (Black Panther, The Mandalorian, Creed, Community, Venom). WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as Travis Scott’s original song The Plan co-written and produced by Göransson. Decca Records has revealed the cover art for the soundtrack album for the 25th James Bond film No Time to Die. The album features the film’s original score composed by Hans Zimmer(The Dark KnightGladiatorThe Lion King, Inception, Pirates of the Caribbean), as well as the theme song performed by Billie Eilish and co-written by herself and Finneas O’Connell (already out now as a digital single).
