Takuma Watanabe (Chime, Aristocrats, A Beautiful Star) has released a soundtrack album for the Japanese psychological thriller Cloud (Kuraudo). The album, which features the composer’s original score from the film, was released in Japan and several other markets last fall and is now available worldwide on all major digital music platforms, including Amazon. Cloud is written and directed by Kiyoshi Kurosawa and stars Masaki Suda, Kotone Furukawa, Daiken Okudaira, Yoshiyoshi Arakawa, Amane Okayama and Masataka Kubota. The movie follows an ambitious young factory worker from Tokyo who side hustles in the murky realm of black market reselling who – after swindling his way into loads of cash – becomes slowly disconnected to humanity. Composer Cho Young-wuk is reteaming with director Park Chan-wook on the upcoming South Korean comedy thriller No Other Choice. The film is based on the novel The Ax by Donald Westlake and stars Lee Byung-hun, Son Yejin, Park Hee-soon, Lee Sung-min, Yeom Hye-ran, Cha Seung-won and Yoo Yeon-seok. Spooked Music will release a soundtrack album for the horror thriller Never Blink. The album features the film’s original score composed by Christopher Saint who also co-directed the movie, as well as new remix of the filmmakers’ song Ulterior Motives. Premiering today is the MGM+ original series The Institute developed by Benjamin Cavell based on Stephen King’s novel of the same title and starring Mary-Louise Parker, Ben Barnes, Joe Freeman, Fionn Laird, Hannah Galway, Simone Miller, Martin Roach, Julian Richings and Robert Joy. The show’s original music is composed by Mark Korven (The Witch, The Lighthouse, The First Omen, The Black Phone, Cube, Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City, The Peripheral). The Lumineers have recorded a new version of Tears for Fears’ Shout as the opening titles theme. Making its linear premiere tonight is the Showtime original series Dexter: Resurrection developed by Clyde Phillips and starring Michel C. Hall, Uma Thurman, David Zayas, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine, Jack Alcott, Kadia Saraf, Emilia Suárez, Dominic Fumusa, James Remar and Peter Dinklage. Pat Irwin (Nurse Jackie, But I’m a Cheerleader, The Good Cop, Feed the Beast, Bored to Death) who previously scored 2021’s Dexter: New Blood and last year’s Dexter: Original Sin has composed the show’s original music. The crime drama, which takes place two weeks after and continues to events of New Blood, premiered this past Friday on Paramount+ with Showtime and will air every Sunday night on Showtime. Brittany Allen (What Keeps You Alive, Z, Torn Hearts, American Horror Stories, Scrambled) has composed the film’s original music. No word on a soundtrack release.
