Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the biographical sports drama The Smashing Machine written and directed by Benny Safdie and starring Dwayne Johnson, Emily Blunt, Ryan Bader, Bas Rutten, Oleksandr Usyk, Lyndsey Gavin, James Moontasri, Satoshi Ishii, Yoko Hamamura, Stephen Quadros and Jason Tremblay. The film’s original music is composed by Belgian experimental jazz musician Nala Sinephro who has made her feature scoring debut on the project. Warp Records & A24 Music have released a soundtrack album featuring the artist’s score today. Also opening wide this weekend is the horror thriller Bone Lake written and directed by Mercedes Byrce Morgan and starring Maddie Hasson, Alex Roe, Marco Pigossi and Andra Nechita. Roque Banos (Don’t Breathe, The Machinist, Evil Dead, In the Heart of the Sea, Come Play, Sexy Beast, The Girl in the Spider’s Web, The Killer’s Game) and Ben Cherney (The Kids Are Alright 2) have composed the film’s original music. The film’s original music is composed by John Murphy (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, 28 Days Later, Sunshine, The Suicide Squad) & David Fleming (Mr. & Mrs. Smith, The Last of Us, Damsel, Jim Henson: Idea Man). WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score, as well as two songs this past Tuesday. Composer and actress Brittany Allen (What Keeps You Alive, Z, American Horror Stories, Torn Hearts, Scrambled) has composed the original score for the upcoming horror feature Abraham’s Boys: A Dracula Story. The film is written and directed by Natasha Kermani (Lucky, Imitation Girl) and stars Titus Welliver, Jocelin Donahue, Aurora Perrineau, Judah Mackey and Brady Hepner. The movie is based on a short story by Joe Hill (Locke & Key, The Black Phone) and revolves around two siblings who have spent their lives under the strict and overprotective rule of their father and struggle to understand his paranoia and increasingly erratic behavior, when they begin to uncover the violent truths behind their father’s history with Dracula.

Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the spy action comedy Argylle directed by Matthew Vaughn and starring Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Rockwell, Henry Cavill, John Cena, Dua Lipa, Bryan Cranston and Catherine O’Hara. The film’s original score is composed by Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible – Fallout/Dead Reckoning, Top Gun: Maverick, Black Widow, His Dark Materials). Platoon has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, an original song performed by Ariana DeBose, Boy George & Nile Rodgers (also available separately as a digital single), as well as an additional song today. Opening semi-wide in around 700 theaters is the comedy Scrambled written and directed by Leah McKendrick and starring McKendrick herself, Ego Nwodim, Andrew Santino, Adam Rodriguez, Clancy Brown and Laura Cerón. Brittany Allen (What Keeps You Alive, Z, Torn Hearts) has composed the film’s original music. No soundtrack album has been announced. The movie, which follows a woman faced with bleak romantic prospects who begins to feel like the clock is ticking and decides to freeze her eggs, premiered at last year’s SXSW Film Festival and is being released by Lionsgate.

Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the horror movie Z. The album features the film’s original score composed by Brittany Allen (What Keeps You Alive). The soundtrack will be released digitally next Friday, September 18 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Z is co-written and directed by Brandon Christensen (Still/Born) and stars Keegan Connor Tracy, Jett Klyne, Sean Rogerson, Sara Canning and Stephen McHattie. The movie centers on a couple who is shaken to the core when their eight-year-old son begins hanging out with a creepy and ominous imaginary friend.

‘What Keeps You Alive’ Soundtrack to Be Released

Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the thriller What Keeps You Alive. The album features the film’s original music composed by Brittany Allen who also stars in the movie. Also included is the Kathleen Munro-written song Bloodlet in two different versions. The soundtrack will be released digitally next Friday, November 30 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. What Keeps You Alive is written and directed by Colin Minihan and stars Hannah Emily Anderson, Allen, Martha MacIsaac and Joey Klein. The movie centers on a same-sex married couple facing venomous betrayals as they celebrate their one-year anniversary.
