Craft Recordings has announced first-ever picture disc edition of the soundtrack for the 1965 movie musical The Sound of Music directed by Robert Wise and starring Julie Andrews, Christopher Plummer, Peggy Wood, Charmian Carr, Richard Haydn and Eleanor Parker. The collectible 12-inch disc featuring the classic Rodgers & Hammerstein songs is being released to coincide with the film’s 60th anniversary and pairs the iconic 1965 cover art on side A with a whimsical “Lonely Goatherd” image on side B. The soundtrack will be released on September 9 and is now available for preorder on Amazon. The movie is written and directed by Lena Dunham (Girls) and stars Natalie Portman, Mark Ruffalo, Tucker Pillsbury, Meg Ryan and Rashida Jones. Silva Screen Records will release a soundtrack album for the British/Irish romantic drama Four Letters of Love. The album features the film’s original score composed by Anne Nikitin (The Dropout, Hijack, American Animals, I.S.S., Fate: The Winx Saga, Mrs. Wilson, One Day, Dangerous Liaisons, Lost Girls). Also included is the original title song written by Johnny Flynn, Nikitin & Williams and performed by Flynn feat. Katherine Priddy.
