Sean Callery to Score Marvel’s ‘Jessica Jones’
Sean Callery revealed at the Comic-Con composer panel Behind the Music: Crime, Death and Resurrection that he is scoring Netflix’s upcoming original series Marvel’s Jessica Jones. The show is developed and executive produced by Melissa Rosenberg and stars Krysten Ritter in the title role, alongside Mike Colter, David Tennant, Rachael Taylor, Carrie-Anne Moss, Eka Darville, Erin Moriarty and Wil Traval. The series based on the Marvel Comics character follows Jones following a brief superhero career as she is rebuilding her personal life and career as a detective who gets pulled into cases involving people with extraordinary abilities in New York City.
Syfy’s ’12 Monkeys’ Soundtrack Details
Varese Sarabande has announced the details of the first soundtrack album for the Syfy original series 12 Monkeys. The album features selections from the first season of the show’s original music composed by Trevor Rabin (Remember the Titans, National Treasure, Con Air, Armageddon) and Paul Linford. The soundtrack will be released on July 31, 2015 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. 12 Monkeys is based on Terry Gilliam’s 1995 movie of the same title and stars Aaron Standford, Amanda Schull, Noah Bean and Kirk Acevedo. The drama centers on a time traveler from the future who appears in present day on a mission to locate and eradicate the source of a deadly plague that will eventually decimate the human race.
Marc & Steffan Fantini to Score ‘Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders’
Marc and Steffan Fantini have been hired to score the upcoming CBS drama Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders. The show is a spin-off of the network’s hit series Criminal Minds and focuses on a division of the FBI that handles cases beyond our borders, helping American citizens who find themselves in trouble abroad. The series stars Jack Garrett, Gary Sinise, Matt ‘Simms’ Simmons, Daniel Henney, Russ ‘Monty’ Montgomery and Tyler James Williams. Erica Messer is executive producing the project with Mark Gordon (Grey’s Anatomy, Speed, The Patriot) and Nick Pepper.
Joel J. Richard to Score ABC’s ‘Quantico’
Joel J. Richard has signed on to score the upcoming ABC drama Quantico. The show is created by Joshua Safran (Endless Love, Gossip Girl, Smash) and stars Priyanka Chopra, Jake McLaughlin, Aunjanue Ellis, Yasmine Al Massri, Johanna Braddy, Tate Ellington and Graham Rogers. The series follows a group of young FBI recruits, all with specific reasons for joining, who battle their way through training at the Quantico base in Virginia. Safran is also executive producing the ABC Studios production with Mark Gordon (Grey’s Anatomy, Criminal Minds, Speed) and Nick Pepper.
‘The Slap’ Soundtrack Details
Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the NBC event series The Slap. The album features selections from the show’s original music composed by Jon Ehrlich and Jason Derlatka (Parenthood, House, M.D., About a Boy). The soundtrack will be released digitally on July 24, 2015 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio clips. A CD version is planned for later this year. The Slap is directed by Lisa Cholodenko (The Kids Are All Right) and stars Peter Saarsgard, Thandie Newton, Uma Thurman, Zachary Quinto, Melissa George, Thomas Sadoski and Brian Cox. The series is based on the book by Christos Tsiolkas and centers on a once happy family that suddenly begins to fall apart following a seemingly minor incident in which a man slaps another couple’s misbehaving child.
David Buckley to Score PBS’ ‘Mercy Street’
David Buckley is set to compose the music for the upcoming PBS original mini-series Mercy Street. The 6-parter is created by Lisa Q. Wolfinger & David Zabel (ER) and stars Josh Radnor, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Gary Cole, Peter Gerety, Norbert Leo Butz, AnnaSophia Robb and Cherry Jones. The series follows the lives of two volunteer nurses on opposing sides of the Civil War – New England abolitionist Mary Phinney and Confederate supporter Emma Green. Wolfinger and Zabel are also executive producing the project with Ridley Scott (Gladiator, Thelma & Louise, Alien) and David W. Zucker (The Pillars of the Earth, Numb3rs) of Scott Free Productions.

Premiering on Wednesday, July 8, is the mini-series The Spoils Before Dying created by Matt Piedmont & Andrew Steele and starring Will Ferrell. Michael Kenneth Williams, Kristen Wiig, Haley Joel Osment, Maya Rudolph, Michael Sheen, Val Kilmer, Andy Daly, Tim Meadows, Chris Parnell and Marc Evan Jackson. Andrew Feltenstein & John Nau (Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, Casa de mi Padre) who previously scored last year’s original The Spoils of Babylon have composed the 6-parter’s original music. The Spoils Before Dying follows a 1950s jazz pianist-turned-private eye who becomes embroiled in a murder investigation and will air Thursday nights on IFC. Atticus Ross to Score Cinemax’s ‘Outcast’
Fox International Studios announced this week that Atticus Ross has been hired to score the upcoming Cinemax original series Outcast. The show is based on the Skybound/Image comic title by creator Robert Kirkman (The Walking Dead) and artist Paul Azaceta and follows a young man who has been plagued by demonic possession all his life and, with the help of a preacher with personal demons of his own, embarks on a journey to find answers and regain the normal life he lost. The drama stars Patrick Fugit, Philip Glenister and Gabriel Bateman.
‘No Offence’ Soundtrack Released
Bucks Music Group has released a soundtrack album for the British TV series No Offence. The album features selections from the show’s original music composed by Vince Pope (Misfits).
