Hollywood Records has released the soundtrack for next week’s Black-ish episode Juneteenth. The 3-track release features the original songs I’m Just a Slave performed by The Roots, as well We Built his and Juneteenth performed by the show’s cast. The soundtrack is now available to download as digital single on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. In the episode, Dre enlists Aloe Blacc to help him create a catchy song to raise awareness for a holiday worth celebrating. Fonzworth Bentley serves as the executive music producer of Juneteenth, which features original music written by Aloe Blacc, The Roots, Adrian Younge, Ali Shaheed Muhammad, Peter Saji and Dave Frishberg.

CBS’ ‘SEAL Team’ to Feature Music by W.G. Snuffy Walden & Patrick Rose
W.G. Snuffy Walden and Patrick Rose are scoring the new CBS drama SEAL Team. The show is created by Benjamin Cavell (Justified) and stars David Boreanaz, Max Thieriot, Neil Brown Jr., AJ Buckley, Toni Trucks and Jessica Paré. The series follows the professional and personal lives of the most elite unit of Navy SEALs as they train, plan and execute high stakes missions. Cavell is also executive producing the CBS elevision production with Ed Redlich (Without a Trace), Christopher Chulack (ER, Animal Kingdom), Sarah Timberman and Carl Beverly (Elementary, Justified).
Robert Lydecker Scoring ‘Lethal Weapon’ Season 2
Robert Lydecker is the new composer of the Fox comedy drama Lethal Weapon. The composer is scoring the show’s second season and follows Josh Kramon & Ben Decter who co-scored the first eight episodes and Tree Adams who composed the music for the rest of the first season. Lethal Weapon is developed Matt Miller (Forever, Chuck) and stars Damon Wayans, Clayne Crawford, Jordana Brewster, Keesha Sharp and Kevin Rahm. Miller is also executive producing the Warner Bros. Television production with Dan Lin (The LEGO Movie, Sherlock Holmes), Jennifer Gwartz (Veronica Mars) and McG (Charlie’s Angels).
‘Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams’ to Feature Music by Harry Gregson-Williams, Olafur Arnalds & Cristobal Tapia de Veer
Harry Gregson-Williams (The Chronicles of Narnia, Shrek, Kingdom of Heaven, The Martian) has composed the main titles theme for upcoming Channel 4 & Amazon original series Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams. Check out the main titles sequence after the jump. The composer has also scored at least one episode of the anthology series. Olafur Arnalds (Broadchurch, Gimme Shelter) and Cristobal Tapia de Veer (Utopia, The Girl with All the Gifts) are also scoring multiple episodes of the show, which are all based on short stories by legendary sci-fi writer Philip K. Dick.

Premiering tonight is sci-fi drama Star Trek: Discovery developed by Alex Kurtzman & Bryan Fuller and starring Sonequa Martin-Green, Jason Isaacs, Doug Jones, James Frain, Michelle Yeoh and Anthony Rapp. The show’s original music is composed by Jeff Russo (Fargo, Legion, The Night Of, Snowfall, Power). Premiering tomorrow, September 25, is the NBC drama The Brave created by Dean Georgaris and starring Anne Heche, Mike Vogel, Sofia Pernas, Tate Ellington, Natacha Karam, Demetrius Grosse, Noah Mills and Hadi Tabbal. Toby Chu (Covert Affairs, Burn Notice, Beyond, Unforgettable, Legends of Oz: Dorothy’s Return) is composing the show’s original music. Cristobal Tapia de Veer Scoring ‘Black Mirror’ Episode ‘Black Museum’
Cristobal Tapia de Veer has composed the music for the upcoming Black Mirror episode Black Museum. The episode is directed by Colm McCarthy (Outcast, Peaky Blinders) and stars Douglas Hodge, Letitia Wright and Babs Olusanmokun. The show’s creator Charlie Brooker wrote the script. The composer has previously collaborated with McCarthy on last year’s feature The Girl with All the Gifts. He joins Daniel Pemberton and Mark Isham who have previously announced as composers for episodes of the new season.
Netflix’s ‘Neo Yokio’ Features Music by Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, BATHS, Dev Hynes & Jesse Novak
EDM producer and DJ Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs (aka Orlando Tobias Edward Higginbottom) has composed the original music for the first episode of the new Netflix original series Neo Yokio. Jesse Novak (BoJack Horseman, The Mindy Project) has scored the second and sixth episode of the series and EDM artist BATHS (aka Will Wiesenfeld) composed the music for the third episode and also contributed a piece for the sixth episode. The anime series’ fourth episode features original music by singer/songwriter Dev Hynes (also known as Blood Orange).
Soundtrack for ITV’s & SundanceTV’s ‘Liar’ Released
Manners McDade has released a soundtrack album for the ITV original series Liar. The album features selections from the show’s original music composed by Afterhere (aka Glenn Gregory & Berenice Scott). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Liar is created, written and executive produced by Harry & Jack Williams and stars Joanne Froggatt and Ioan Gruffudd. The psychogical thriller revolves around a teacher and surgeon, respectively, whose seemingly innocent date turns into a series of volatile accusations that capsize their lives. The 6-parter premiered in the UK earlier this month on ITV and will make its U.S. debut on September 27 on SundanceTV.
Nico Muhly Scoring BBC’s & Starz’s ‘Howards End’
Nico Muhly has recently recorded his score for the upcoming BBC and Starz limited series Howards End. The show is developed by Kenneth Lonergan (Manchester By the Sea, You Can Count On Me) based on the classic E.M. Forster novel and stars Hayley Atwell, Matthew Macfadyen, Julia Ormond, Philippa Coulthard, Joseph Quinn, Rosalind Eleazar, Tracey Ullman and Alex Lawther. The 4-parter explores the changing landscape of social and class divisions in turn of the century England through the prism of three families. Hettie Macdonald (Beautiful Thing) is directing all episodes. Colin Callender (Wolf Hall), Joshua D. Maurer (The Hoax), Alixandre Witlin & David A. Stern (The Last Tycoon), Sophie Gardiner, Scott Huff (The Missing) and Lucy Richer are executive producing the project.
Dan Jones to Score BBC’s & PBS’ ‘The Miniaturist’
Dan Jones has been hired to compose the music for the upcoming BBC mini-series The Miniaturist. The period thriller is directed by Guillem Morales (Julia’s Eyes) and stars Anya Taylor-Joy, Romola Garai, Alex Hassell, Paapa Essiedu, Hayley Squires and Emily Berrington. The 3-parter is based on Jessie Burton’s best-selling novel of the same title and follows a woman who moves to live with her new husband in 17th Amsterdam, but soon discovers that not everything is what it seems. Kate Sinclair is executive producing the project for The Forge, alongside Elizabeth Kilgarriff (Poldark, Call the Midwife) for the BBC and Rebecca Eaton (Sherlock, Downton Abbey) for PBS’ Masterpiece.
