Hollywood Records will release a soundtrack album for the BBC and FX limited series A Christmas Carol. The album features original music from the 3-parter composed by Academy Award nominees Dustin O’Halloran (Transparent, Like Crazy) & Volker Bertelmann (Adrift, Patrick Melrose) who have previously co-scored the features Lion and The Art of Racing in the Rain. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, January 17 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon. A Chrismas Carol is written by Steven Knight based on Charles Dickens’ iconic ghost story, directed by Nick Murphy and stars Guy Pearce as Ebenezer Scrooge, Andy Serkis as Ghost of Christmas Past, as well as Stephen Graham, Charlotte Riley, Joe Alwyn, Vinette Robinson, Jason Flemyng and Kayvan Novak.

Paramount Network’s ’68 Whiskey’ to Feature Original Music by Tyler Bates
Tyler Bates (Guardians of the Galaxy, Deadpool 2, John Wick, 300, Watchmen, Dawn of the Dead) is the composer of the new Paramount Network original series 68 Whiskey. The show is developed by Roberto Benabib (Weeds, Kidding) based on the Israeli television series Charlie Golf One and stars Sam Keeley, Jeremy Tardy, Gage Golightly, Cristina Rodlo, Beth Riesgraf, Lamont Thompson, Nicholas Coombe and Derek Theler. The comedic drama follows a multicultural band of Army medics stationed in Afghanistan on a base nicknamed “The Orphanage.”
‘Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts’ Soundtrack Album Released
Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album for DreamWorks Animation’s Netflix series Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts. The album features the main titles song by VenessaMichaels, as well as other songs by Dope Saint Jude, GZA & John Hodgman, Kittie Harloe & others. Also included are several tracks from the series’ original score composed by Daniel Rojas. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Apple Music, where you can also check out audio samples. Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts is created by Radford Sechrist, developed for television by Bill Wolkoff and stars Karen Fukuhara, Deon Cole, Coy Stewart, Sydney Mikayla and Dee Bradley Baker.

Premiering tonight is the HBO limited series The Outsider developed by Richard Price based on Stephen King’s novel and starring Ben Mendelsohn, Cynthia Erivo, Jason Bateman, Bill Camp, Mare Winningham, Paddy Considine, Julianne Nicholson and Yul Vázquez. The show’s original music is composed by Danny Bensi & Saunder Jurriaans (Boy Erased, The Gift, Enemy, Ozark). Russ Davies to Score BBC America’s ‘The Watch’
Russ Davies is set to score the upcoming BBC America original series The Watch. The show is developed by Simon Allen (The Musketeers) based on Sir Terry Pratchett’s bestselling Discworld novels and stars Richard Dormer, Adam Hugill, Jo Eaton-Kent, Marama Corlett, Lara Rossi and Sam Adewunmi. The drama revolves around a group of misfit cops as they rise up from decades of helplessness to save their corrupt city from catastrophe.
Bear McCreary Scoring Amazon’s ‘The Dark Tower’
Bear McCreary (Godzilla: King of the Monsters, 10 Cloverfield Lane, Battlestar Galactica, Happy Death Day) is composing the original music for the Amazon pilot The Dark Tower. The show is developed by Glen Mazzara based on Stephen King’s book of the same title and stars Sam Strike, Jasper Pääkkönen, Michael Rooker, Jerome Flynn and Joana Ribeiro. The fantasy drama tells the origin story of Roland Deschain and chronicles how he became a gunslinger and his first encounter with the villainous Man in Black.
Soundtrack Album for Alibi’s ‘Traces’ Released
A soundtrack album has been released for the Alibi original series Traces. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Jack Halama. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon Music, where you can also check out audio samples. Traces is written by Amelia Bullmore based on an original idea by Val McDermid and stars Martin Compston, Laura Fraser, Molly Windsor, Jennifer Spence, Laurie Brett, Vincent Regan, Michael Nardone and John Gordan Sinclair. The crime drama is set in the world of forensic science in Dundee, Scotland and follows three women who together uncover the truth about an unsolved murder case.
Michael Brook Scoring Apple TV+ Series ‘Little America’
Michael Brook (Brooklyn, Into the Wild, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, The Fighter) is the composer of the new Apple TV+ original series Little America. The show is created by Lee Eisenberg (The Office, Good Boys) inspired by the true stories featured in Epic Magazin of immigrants in America. The first season features eight stories from different parts of the world. Eisenberg is also executive producing the project with Kumail Nanjiani & Emily V. Gordon (The Big Sick), Alan Yang (Master of None), Sian Heder, Joshuah Bearman, Joshua Davis and Arthur Spector.
NBC’s ‘Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist’ to Original Score by Gabriel Mann & Themes by Mateo Messina
Gabriel Mann is composing the original score for the new NBC drama Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist. Mateo Messina (Juno, Superstore, Women Who Kill) has provided the themes for the show created by Austin Winsberg and starring Jane Levy, Skylar Astin, Alex Newell, John Clarence Stewart, Peter Gallagher and Mary Steenburgen. The series revolves around a whip-smart computer coder in San Francisco who suddenly starts to hear the innermost wants, thoughts and desires of the people around her – her family, co-workers and complete strangers – through popular songs. Harvey Mason Jr. serves as the project’s executive music producer and Jen Ross is the music supervisor.
Jeff Cardoni Tapped as New Composer of Spectrum’s ‘L.A.’s Finest’
Jeff Cardoni (Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, Silicon Valley, The Kominsky Method) is the new composer of the Spectrum Originals series L.A.’s Finest. He is scoring the second season of the drama created by Brandon Margolis & Brandon Sonnier (The Blacklist) based on Michael Bay’s Bad Boys franchise and starring Gabrielle Union, Jessica Alba, Zach Gilford, Duane Martin, Ryan McPartlin, Sophie Reynolds and Ernie Hudson. Laura Karpman & Raphal Saadiq have previously scored last year’s first season of the show.
