Deadline is reporting that Devonté Hynes (aka Blood Orange) (Queen & Slim, We Are Who We Are, Palo Alto, Mainstream, In Treatment) has signed on to score the upcoming HBO Max original series Rap Sh*t. The show is created by Issa Rae (Insecure) and stars Aida Osman, KaMillion, Jonica Booth, Devon Terrell and RJ Cyler. The comedy follows two estranged high school friends from Miami who reunite to form a rap group.

‘What If…T’Challa Became a Star-Lord?’ Soundtrack Album Details
The details of the second soundtrack album for Marvel’s animated Disney+ series What If…? have been revealed. The album features the original music from the second episode of the show (What If…T’Challa Became a Star-Lord?) composed by Laura Karpman (Lovecraft Country, Paris Can Wait, Set It Up, Black Nativity, Why We Hate, Underground). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, August 23 by Hollywood Records/Marvel Music and will be available to stream/download on all major digital music outlets, including Amazon. Karpman’s music from the first episode (What If…Captain Carter Were The First Avenger?) was released earlier this month and the composer’s scores from the rest of the season will be coming out over the next couple of weeks.

‘DC’s Legends of Tomorrow’ The Mixtape Released
WaterTower Music has released a new soundtrack album for the CW drama DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. The album features a selection of songs from the show performed by cast members including Brandon Routh, Caity Lotz, Tala Ashe, Nick Zano, Matt Ryan, Olivia Swann, Shayan Sobhian, Courtney Ford & Ramona Young, as well as guest stars Thomas Nicholson (as David Bowie), Tom Wilson, Luke Bilyk (as Elvis Presley), Jane Carr, among others. Series co-composer Daniel James Chan (Supergirl, Emergence) is the principal songwriter (of the original songs) and producer (of the cover versions). DC’s Legends of Tomorrow: The Mixtape is now available to stream/download on all major digital music platforms, including Amazon. The label has previously released multiple soundtracks featuring Blake Neely’s & Chan’s original score from the series.
Details for ‘Star Wars: The Bad Batch’ Vol. 2 (Episodes 9-16) Soundtrack Album Revealed
The full details of the second soundtrack album for Lucasfilm’s Disney+ series Star Wars: The Bad Batch have been revealed. The album features selections of the original music from Episodes 9-16 of the show’s first season composed by Kevin Kiner (Star Wars: The Clone Wars & Rebels, Narcos: Mexico, Doom Patrol, Titans, CSI: Miami, Hell on Wheels, City on a Hill). The Volume 2 soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, August 20 by Walt Disney Records and will be available to stream/download here. A first album featuring the composer’s music from the first episodes was released back in June. Star Wars: The Bad Batch is created by Dave Filoni and stars Dee Bradley Baker, Ming-Na Wen, Stephen Stanton and Andrew Kishino.
‘Nine Perfect Strangers’ Soundtrack Album Details
Lakeshore Records & Endeavor Content will release a soundtrack album for the Hulu limited series Nine Perfect Strangers. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Marco Beltrami (A Quiet Place, Logan, Ford v. Ferrari, Scream, 3:10 to Yuma, The Wolverine, The Hurt Locker) and Miles Hankins (The Night Before, Len & Company, Long Shot). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, August 20 and will be available to stream/download here. Nine Perfect Strangers is developed by David E. Kelley & John Henry Butterworth based on the book of the same name by Liane Moriarty and stars Nicole Kidman, Melissa McCarthy, Michael Shannon, Luke Evans, Samara Weaving, Bobby Cannavale, Regina Hall, Melvin Gregg, Grace Van Patten, Asher Keddie, Tiffany Boone and Manny Jacinto.
Soundtrack Album for Peacock’s ‘The Amber Ruffin Show’ Released
Back Lot Music has released the first soundtrack album for the Peacock original late-night series The Amber Ruffin Show. The album features a selection of the songs from the show performed by Ruffin written by herself, David Allen Schmoll, Jenny Hagel, Dewayne Perkins, Shantira Jackson, among others and performed by Ruffin. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download here, where you can also check out audio samples. The Amber Ruffin Show showcases Amber’s signature smart and silly take on the week’s news. The Universal Television production executive produced by Ruffin, Jenny Hagel, Seth Meyers & Mike Shoemaker premiered last fall and is currently available to stream on Peacock and also airs every Friday night on NBC.

La-La Land Records has announced the details of the second volume collection of original music from the 60s sci-fi series The Time Tunnel created by Irwin Allen and starring James Darren, Robert Colbert, John Zaremba, Whit Bissell and Lee Meriwether. The album features music from the show composed by John Williams (as Johnny Williams) (Star Wars, Raiders of the Lost Ark), Leith Stevens (The War of the Worlds, When Worlds Collide), Joseph Mullendore (Lost in Space, Land of the Giants), Paul Sawtell (Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, Jack the Giant Killer), Robert Drasnin (Mission: Impossible, Lost in Space) and George Duning (3:10 to Yuma, Star Trek: The Original Series). Featured episodes include Revenge of the Gods, Massacre, Reign of Terror, Secret Weapon, The Death Trap and The Death Merchant.

Milan Records has released the theme song from the upcoming Netflix animated series Ada Twist, Scientist. The song written by Kay Hanley, Michelle Lewis & Dan Petty and performed by Renée Elise Goldsberry is now available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music platforms.
