iZLER to Score Showtime’s ‘Years of Living Dangerously’
iZLER revealed in a recent interview with Billboard that he will be scoring Showtime’s upcoming environmental documentary series Years of Living Dangerously. The show will explore the effects of climate change in different parts of the world. Film and TV stars including Matt Damon, Don Cheadle, Olivia Munn and Ian Somerhalder are participating as first-person narrators on the ground. The series is executive produced by James Cameron, Jerry Weintraub, Arnold Schwarzenegger, along with Emmy-winning producers Joel Bach & David Gelber (60 Minutes), and climate expert Daniel Abbasi.
‘Dexter’ Season 7 Soundtrack Details
Milan Records will release a new soundtrack for the Showtime hit series Dexter. The album features selections from the seventh season’s original score composed by Daniel Licht. Also included is Rolfe Kent’s main title theme, as well as a selection of Latin tracks from season 7 by artists including The Spanish Harlem Orchestra, Patato, Latin Soul Syndicate, Kluba and Joao Gilberto. The soundtrack will be released on August 20, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The seventh season of Dexter starring Michael C. Hall, Jennifer Carpenter, Desmond Harrington, C.S. Lee, Lauren Velez, David Zayas and James Remar has been released on Blu-Ray and DVD this past May and the eighth and final season currently airs every Sunday night on Showtime.

Michael Penn to Score Showtime’s ‘Masters of Sex’
Michael Penn has been hired to score the upcoming Showtime original series Masters of Sex. The show is created by Michelle Ashford (The Pacific) and stars Michael Sheen and Lizzy Caplan as real-life pioneers of the science of human sexuality, William Masters and Virginia Johnson. Caitlin Fitzgerald, Nicholas D’Agosto and Teddy Sears are co-starring and Beau Bridges and Margo Martindale also appear in the pilot. The series is an adaptation of Thomas Maier’s book Masters of Sex: The Life and Times of William Masters and Virginia Johnson, The Couple Who Taught America How To Love and chronicles Masters’ and Johnson’s unusual lives, romance and pop culture trajectory.
Marcelo Zarvos to Score Showtime’s ‘Ray Donovan’
Marcelo Zarvos is currently scoring the upcoming Showtime original series Ray Donovan. The drama is created by Ann Biderman (Southland, Primal Fear) and stars Liev Schreiber in the title role as a go-to guy who makes the problems of LA’s celebrities, superstar athletes, and business moguls disappear and experiences his own problems when his father, played by Jon Voight, is unexpectedly released from prison. Paula Malcomson, Eddie Marsan, Katherine Moennig, Dash Mihok, Kerris Dorsey, Pooch Hall, Steven Bauer and Devon Bagby are co-starring. Biderman is executive producing the show with Mark Gordon (Source Code, Grey’s Anatomy) and Bryan Zuriff (The Details). Allen Coulter has directed the pilot episode. Zarvos has previously scored the 2006 drama Hollywoodland starring Ben Affleck and 2010’s Remember Me starring Robert Pattinson for the director.
‘Weeds’ Season 8 Soundtrack Released
Lionsgate Records has released a new soundtrack album for the Showtime hit series Weeds. The album features songs from the eighth and final season of the show by artists including Family of the Year, The Nervous Wreckords, Winterpills, Charlie Mars, Walter Spencer, Shivaree, The Steamboat Cabaret and Rilo Kiley. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon. Audio clips can be checked out after the jump. The album marks fifth soundtrack release for the series. Weeds is created by Jenji Kohan and stars Mary-Louise Parker, Elizabeth Perkins, Tonye Patano, Romany Malco, Indigo and Hunter Parrish. The final season of the comedy drama premiered last summer on Showtime and is also coming out on Blu-Ray and DVD today.
‘Californication’ Season 6 Soundtrack Announced
Entertainment One Music will release a new soundtrack album for the Showtime original series Californication. The album features songs from the sixth season of the show by artists including Steve Jones, Marilyn Manson, The Blind Pets, Ryan Adams, Joe Walsh, Lissie, Johnny Thunders, Warren Zevon and Tim Minchin. The soundtrack will be released on January 15, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Check out the full track list after the jump. Californication stars David Duchovny as a troubled novelist who moves from New York to California and suffers from writer s block which complicates his relationships with his girlfriend and daughter. The fifth season of the series will be released on DVD on December 18 (click here to order the box set). Season 6 is set to premiere on January 13, 2012 on Showtime.

This past Saturday, the new comedy drama series The Wedding Band premiered on TBS. The show executive produced by Darin Moiselle & Josh Lobis and Mike Tollin (Radio, Summer Catch) stars Brian Austin Green, Derek Miller, Harold Perrineau, Peter Cambor, Jenny Wade, Kathryn Fiore and Melora Hardin. The series follows four friends who, despite their ups and downs, spend their spare time performing in a wedding band. The show’s score is composed by Blake Neely (Arrow, The Mentalist) and Nathaniel Blume. Adam Schlesinger (Music and Lyrics) serves as the project’s music producer. The first season of ten episode will air Saturday nights on TBS.

Sean Callery has recently received his 12th Emmy nomination in the Outstanding Main Title Theme Music category for his opening titles music for Showtime’s critically acclaimed original series Homeland.
