The only movie to open wide this weekend is the drama Out of the Furnace co-written and directed by Scott Cooper and starring Christian Bale, Woody Harrelson, Casey Affleck, Forest Whitaker, Willem Dafoe, Zoe Saldana and Sam Shepard. The film’s original score is composed by Dickon Hinchliffe (Winter’s Tale, Last Chance Harvey). Relativity Music Group has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score earlier this week. Check out our previous news article for the full album details. Opening in limited release is the drama Inside Llewyn Davis directed by Joel and Ethan Coen and starring Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan, John Goodman, Garrett Hedlund and Justin Timberlake. Nonesuch Records has released a soundtrack album produced by T Bone Burnett and the Coen Brothers, which features 12 new recordings made for the film performed by the movie’s cast, an existing recording by Dave Van Ronk, as well as a previously unreleased version of the song Farewell by Bob Dylan. Mark Kilian is composing the music for the upcoming ABC drama Killer Women. The show is created by Hannah Shakespeare (The Raven, Loverboy) and stars Tricia Helfer, Marc Blucas, Marta Milans, Michael Trucco and Alex Fernandez. The series centers on the only woman in the notoriously male Texas Rangers – committed to finding the truth and seeing justice served. Shakespeare is also executive producing the ABC Studios production with Sofía Vergara (Modern Family), Martin Campbell (Casino Royale, The Mask of Zorro), Ed Zuckerman (Blue Bloods, Law & Order),, Ben Silverman (The Office, The Tudors), and Luis Balaguer. Killer Woman is set to premiere on January 7, 2014 and will air every Tuesday night on ABC. 
Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the indie comedy Expecting. The album features the film’s original score composed by Mark Kilian (Tsotsi, Rendition, Pitch Perfect). The soundtrack will be released digitally on December 17, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on 
Mark Kilian has been hired to score the upcoming action crime thriller Revenge of the Green Dragons. The film is directed by Andrew Lau (Infernal Affairs series, Initial D – Drift Racer) and Andrew Loo and stars Ray Liotta, Justin Chon, Harry Shum Jr., Kevin Wu and Billy Magnussen. The movie is set in New York and follows two immigrants fighting their way up the Green Dragons gang, and then their struggle to confront their former associates after one of them is cast beyond the pale for his trysts with his clan chieftain. Michael Di Jiacomo has written the film’s screenplay. Stuart Ford & Allen Bain are producing the project for IM Global, as well as Ara Katz (Diary of the Dead) and Jesse Scolaro. Martin Scorsese who directed the Academy Award-winning thriller The Departed based on Lau’s Infernal Affairs serves as an executive producer. 
Premiering on Tuesday, September 24, on ABC is Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. executive produced by Joss Whedon, Jed Whedon & Maurissa Tancharoen and starring Clark Gregg, Brett Dalton, Ming-Na Wen, Iain De Caestecker, Elizabeth Henstridge and Chloe Bennett. Bear McCreary (The Walking Dead, Battlestar Galactica) is scoring the show weekly with a full orchestra. The film is written and directed by Brian Horiuchi and stars Frank Langella, Gena Rowlands, Rosario Dawson, Josh Hartnett, Penn Badgley, Teresa Palmer, Alexis Bledel and Hill Harper. The movie follows three couples dealing with the same reality-shaking event, which threatens to tear them apart. Molly Hassell (Edmond), Jennifer Levine (Delirious), Michael Benaroya (Lawless, Margin Call, The Words) and David Dickson are producing the Benaroya Pictures production.
