Mark Isham has taken over scoring duties on the the new ABC drama Blood & Oil. The drama is created by Josh Pate (Aquarius) & Rodes Fishburne and stars Don Johnson, Chace Crawford, Rebecca Rittenhouse, Delroy Lindo, Scott Michael Foster, India de Beaufort, Amber Valletta, Adan Canto, Yani Gellman and Caitlin Carver. The show follows a couple who dream of a new life and move to “The Bakken” in North Dakota, booming after the biggest oil discovery in American history, where they are pitted against a ruthless tycoon who forces them to put everything on the line, including their marriage.

Opening in limited release is the sci-fi thriller Ex Machina written and directed by Alex Garland and stars Oscaar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson and Alicia Vikander. ‘The Longest Ride’ Score Album Details
Milan Records will release a score album for the romantic drama The Longest Ride. The album features the film’s original music composed by Mark Isham (Crash, A Rivers Runs Through It, The Lucky One, Once Upon a Time, 42). The soundtrack will be released digitally on April 7, 2015 and physically on May 5. Click here to pre-order the CD. Mark Isham Scoring Bob Yari’s ‘Papa’
Mark Isham is composing the music for the upcoming drama Papa. The film is directed by Bob Yari (producer of The Illusionist, Hostage and The Painted Veil) and stars Giovanni Ribisi, Adrian Sparks, Joely Richardson, James Remar and Minka Kelly. The movie follows an American journalist who travels to Cuba in 1959, on a mission to meet his idol, the legendary Ernest Hemingway. Denne Bart Petitclerc has written the screenplay based on his own experience. Yari is also producing the project, which marks the first Hollywood production that was shot in Cuba in over 45 years.

Premiering tonight is the new Fox comedy The Last Man on Earth created by and starring Will Forte and executive produced by Chris Miller & Phil Lord and Seth Cohen. Mark Mothersbaugh (The Lego Movie, 21 Jump Street, The Royal Tenenbaums, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs) is composing the show’s original music. The Last Man on Earth is set in the year 2022 and follows a man who searches the entire United States for any signs of other living humans after an unknown event wipes out the entire population of Earth. The show’s original music is composed by Matteo Zingales. Secrets and Lies follows a man who stumbles across the dead body of his neighbor’s young son whilefor a jog, only to find himself accused of being the murderer. Mark Isham to Score Gavin O’Connor’s ‘The Accountant’
Mark Isham is reteaming with director Gavin O’Connor to score the upcoming action thriller The Accountant. The film stars Ben Affleck, Anna Kenrick, J.K Simmons, Jon Bernthal, John Lithgow and Jeffrey Tambor. The movie centers on a mild-mannered accountant and math genius who moonlights as a lethal assassin. Bill Dubuque (The Judge) has written the Black List-honored screenplay. Electric City Entertainment’s Lynette Howell (The Place Beyond the Pines, Blue Valentine, Big Eyes) and Mark Williams (Flawless, Arena) are producing the project. Isham and O’Connor have previously collaborated on the features Miracle, Pride and Glory and Warrior.

Mark Isham is composing the music for the upcoming thriller Septembers of Shiraz. The film is directed by Wayne Blair (The Sapphires) and stars Salma Hayek, Adrien Brody and Shoreh Aghdashloo. The movie is based on the New York Times bestseller of the same title by Dalia Sofer and centers on a secular Jewish family caught in the Islamic revolution in Iran, and their journey to overcome and escape from the deadly tyranny that swept their country. Hanna Weg has adapted the material for the screen. Gerard Butler & Alan Siegel (Olympus Has Fallen, Law Abiding Citizen) and Danielle Robinson are producing the Millennium Entertainment and Eclectic Pictures production with Heidi Jo Markel (Lovelace, Trust) and Weg.

Mark Isham is composing the score for the upcoming ABC drama American Crime. The show is created by John Ridley (12 Years a Slave, Jimi: All Is By My Side) and stars Felicity Huffman, Timothy Hutton, W. Earl Brown, Richard Cabral, Caitlin Gerard, Benito Martinez, Penelope Ann Miller, Elvis Nolasco and Johnny Ortiz. The series centers around the brutal attack on a young couple in Modesto, California, their parents and the four suspects who are about to be arrested. Ridley has also directed the pilot and is executive producing the ABC Studios production with Michael J. McDonald.

The movie is based on the bestselling novel by Nicholas Sparks (The Notebook, Dear John) and centers on the star-crossed love affair between a former champion bull rider looking to make a comeback and a college student who is about to embark upon her dream job in New York City’s art world. Craig Bolotin (Black Rain, Light It Up) has written the screenplay. Sparks is also producing the project with Marty Bowen (The Fault in Our Stars, The Maze Runner), Wyck Godfrey (Twilight, I, Robot) and Theresa Park (The Best of Me).

Opening in most theaters is the comedy sequel Dumb and Dumber To directed by Peter & Bobby Farrelly and starring Jim Carrey, Jeff Daniels, Kathleen Turner, Laurie Holden, Rob Riggle, Rachel Melvin and Steve Tom. The film’s original music is composed by the electronic music duo Empire of the Sun.
