Two new movies are opening nationwide this week:
Opening in most theaters is DreamWorks Animation’s The Boss Baby directed by Tom McGrath and featuring the voices of Alec Baldwin, Steve Buscemi, Jimmy Kimmel, Lisa Kudrow and Miles Bakshi. The film’s original music is composed by Hans Zimmer (The Lion King, Gladiator, Inception, The Dark Knight) and Steve Mazzaro (Bullet to the Head). Also opening wide is the film adaptation of Ghost in the Shell directed by Rupert Sanders and starring Scarlett Johansson, Pilou Asbæk, Takeshi Kitano, Juliette Binoche and Michael Pitt. Clint Mansell (Requiem for a Dream, Black Swan, Noah) and Lorne Balfe (The LEGO Batman Movie, Terminator Genisys) have composed the film’s original music. Paramount Pictures has released a soundtrack album featuring songs from and inspired by the movie (click here for the full details). A separate soundtrack featuring Mansell’s music was originally set for release today by Lakeshore Records, but appears to have been canceled or postponed indefinitely.
‘Ghost in the Shell’ to Feature Music by Lorne Balfe
Lorne Balfe has composed original music for the upcoming film adaptation of Ghost in the Shell. He is credited as the film’s composer alongside Clint Mansell who was previously announced as the movie’s composer. Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album featuring the film’s score later this month. The sci-fi adventure is directed by Rupert Sanders and stars Scarlett Johansson, Pilou Asbaek, Takeshi Kitano, Juliette Binoche and Michael Pitt. The movie based on the Japanese manga of the same title created by Masamune Shirow will be released nationwide on March 31, 2017 by Paramount Pictures.
Lakeshore Records to Release ‘Logan’ & ‘Ghost in the Shell’ Soundtracks
Lakeshore Records will release the official soundtrack album for the comic book movie Logan directed by James Mangold and starring Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Richard E. Grant, Boyd Holbrook, Stephen Merchant and Dafne Keen. The album features the film’s original music composed by Marco Beltrami (Scream, World War Z) who previously scored Mangold’s The Wolverine and 3:10 to Yuma. Clint Mansell to Score ‘The New Radical’
Clint Mansell is composing the music for the upcoming documentary The New Radical. The film is directed by Adam Bhala Lough (Bomb the System) and centers on a group of uncompromising millennial radicals from the United States and the United Kingdom who attack the system through dangerous technological means, which evolves into a high-stakes game with world authorities in the midst of a dramatically changing political landscape. Lucy Sumner (Hesher), Alex Needles and Brent Stiefel (Grassroots, Free in Deed, As You Are) are producing the project.

Opening in most theaters is the supernatural thriller Incarnate directed by Brad Peyton and starring Aaron Eckhart, Carice van Houten, Catalina Sandino Moreno and David Mazouz. The film’s original music is composed by Andrew Lockington (San Andreas, Journey to the Center of the Earth, Journey 2: The Mysterious Island). No soundtrack album has been announced. The Jason Blum-produced movie revolves around an unconventional exorcist who taps into the subconscious of a nine-year old boy who is possessed by a powerful, ancient demon. The thriller is being released by High Top Releasing/BH Tilt.
Also opening wide is the faith-based drama Believe written and directed by Billy Dickson and starring Ryan O’Quinn, Shawnee Smith, Danielle Nicolet, Kevin Sizemore, David DeLuise and Isaac Ryan Brown. Michael Reola (Melissa & Joey) has composed the film’s original score. No word on a soundtrack album. The movie follows a small-town business owner who tries to save the local Christmas pageant against all odds. The drama is being distributed by Freestyle Releasing. Clint Mansell’s Music from ‘Black Mirror’ Episode ‘San Junipero’ to Be Released
Lakeshore Records will release the soundtrack for the Black Mirror episode San Junipero. The album features the episode’s original music composed by Clint Mansell (Requiem for a Dream, Black Swan, The Fountain, The Wrestler, Noah). The soundtrack will be released digitally on December 2, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. San Junipero is directed by Owen Harris, written by Charlie Brooker and stars Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Mackenzie Davis and Denise Burse. The episode takes place in a seaside town in 1987 and follows a shy young woman and an outgoing party girl who strike up a powerful bond that seems to defy the laws of space and time. The third season of Black Mirror is now available to stream on Netflix.
Clint Mansell to Score Rupert Sanders’ ‘Ghost in the Shell’
Director Rupert Sanders (Snow White and the Huntsman) revealed at a media event in Tokyo this weekend that Clint Mansell is scoring the upcoming film adaptation of Ghost in the Shell. The film is based on the Japanese manga of the same title created by Masamune Shirow and stars Scarlett Johansson, Pilou Asbæk, Takeshi Kitano, Juliette Binoche and Michael Pitt. The movie follows Major, a special ops, one-of-a-kind human-cyborg hybrid, who leads the elite task force Section 9, which is devoted to stopping the most dangerous criminals and extremists and faced with an enemy whose singular goal is to wipe out Hanka Robotic’s advancements in cyber technology.

Premiering tomorrow, October 24, is the new CBS comedy Man with a Plan created by Jackie & Jeff Filgo (That 70’s Show) and starring Matt LeBlanc, Liza Snyder, Kevin Nealon, Diana Maria Riva, Matt Cook and Jessica Chaffi. The show’s original music is composed by John Kimbrough (Winter Passing, Jump Tomorrow, A Decade Under the Influence). The series follows a contractor who must take on a more active parenting role when his wife goes back to work for the first time in 13 years. The comedy will air every Monday night on CBS.
