Opening in theaters nationwide today is the drama Cry Macho directed by Clint Eastwood and starring Eastwood himself, Eduardo Minett, Natalia Traven, Fernanda Urrejola, Dwight Yoakam and Horacio Garcia-Rojas. The film’s original music is composed by Mark Mancina (Moana, Tarzan, Bad Boys, Speed,  Twister, August Rush, Training Day). WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as an original song performed by Will Banister last week. Also opening wide is the action thriller Copshop directed by Joe Carnahan and starring Gerard Butler, Frank Grillo, Alexis Louder and Toby Huss. Clinton Shorter (District 9, The Expanse,  2 Guns, Contraband, Pompeii, Boss Level) has composed the film’s original music. Sony Classical has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score last Friday. Opening nationwide today is the action fantasy movie Mortal Kombat directed by Simon McQuoid and starring Lewis Tan, Jessica McNamee, Mehcad Brooks, Josh Lawson, Ludi Lin, Tadanobu Asano, Joe Taslim, Chin Han and Hiroyuki Sanada. The film’s original music is composed by Benjamin Wallfisch (It, Blade Runner 2049, Hidden Figures, Shazam!, Annabelle Creation, Lights Out). WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score last week. Check out our previous news article for the full album details and to learn more about the movie, which is being released by Warner Bros. Pictures and is available premiering on HBO Max today.

Also opening nationwide this week is the Japanese animated feature Demon Slayer The Movie: Mugen Train directed by Haruo Sotozaki and starring Natsuki Hanae, Akari Kito, Hiro Shimono, Satoshi Hino, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka, Daisuke Hirakawa, Abby Trott, Aleks Le, Zach Aguilar and Bryce Papenbrook. Yuki Kajiura & Go Shiina have composed the film’s original music. The movie, which is based on the shōnen manga series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba by Koyoharu Gotouge, broke local box office records when it opened in Japanese theaters last year and is being distributed in the U.S. by FUNimation.

Benjamin Wallfisch to Score Andy Muschietti’s ‘The Flash’

Benjamin Wallfisch (The Invisible Woman, Hidden Figures, Blade Runner 2049, Annabelle Creation) is set to reunite with director Andy Muschietti on the upcoming superhero movie The Flash. The film stars Ezra Miller in the title role, alongside Ben Affleck, Michael Keaton, Kiersey Clemons, Sasha Calle, Maribel Verdú and Ron Livingston. Christina Hodson (Birds of Prey, Bumblebee) wrote the screenplay. Michael Disco and Barbara Muschietti (Locke & Key) are producing the DC Films production.

‘Mortal Kombat’ Soundtrack Album Details

WaterTower Music has announced the full details of the soundtrack album for the new film adaptation of Mortal Kombat. The album features the movie’s original music composed by Grammy Award and Golden Globe nominee Benjamin Wallfisch (It, Blade Runner 2049, Shazam!, Annabelle Creation, Hidden Figures, Lights Out). The soundtrack will be released digitally next Friday, April 16 and will be available to stream/download here. A CD version will be available to order on Amazon. As previously reported, the Wallfisch-produced and -performed Techno Syndrome 2021 remix from the film is already to stream/download now. Mortal Kombat is directed by Simon McQuoid and stars Lewis Tan, Jessica McNamee, Josh Lawson, Mehcad Brooks, Ludi Lin, Tadanobu Asano, Chin Han, Joe Taslim and Hiroyuki Sanada.

First Track from ‘Mortal Kombat’ Soundtrack Released

Available to stream/download now is Techno Syndrome 2021, a new version of the Olivier Adams-composed theme song from the 90s game produced by the film’s composer Benjamin Wallfisch (Shazam!, It, Blade Runner 2049, Hidden Figures, Annabelle Creation, Lights Out). The film starring Melissa McCarthy, Chris O’Dowd, Kevin Kline, Timothy Olyphant, Daveed Diggs, Skyler Gisondo, Loretta Devine, Laura Harrier, Rosalind Chao and Kimberly Quinn revolves around a married couple suffers a tragedy that strains their relationship. Matt Harris wrote the Black List-honored screenplay.

‘The Invisible Man’ Soundtrack Details

Back Lot Music will release the official soundtrack album for the sci-fi horror movie The Invisible Man. The album features the film’s original music composed by Grammy Award and Golden Globe nominee Benjamin Wallfisch (It, Shazam!, Blade Runner 2049, Hidden Figures, Annabelle Creation, Lights Out). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, February 21 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. The Invisible Man is written and directed by Leigh Whannell and stars Elisabeth Moss, Aldis Hodge, Storm Reid, Harriet Dyer and Oliver Jackson-Cohen. The movie is inspired by Universal’s classic monster character and follows a woman whose abusive ex commits suicide. When she suspects his death is a hoax, she tries to prove that she is being hunted by someone nobody can see.
