The album features the original music from the Christmas special composed by Stefano Cabrera (Lovers, Lost in Laos). The film’s original music is composed by Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible: Fallout, Black Widow, The Wheel of Time, His Dark Materials, Bad Boys for Life, The Lego Batman Movie). The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award nominee Jóhann Jóhannsson (Sicario, The Theory of Everything, Arrival, Prisoners, Mandy) & Jonas Colstrup (Tigers, The Shadow Play, In the Blood). Opening in nationwide this weekend is the musical drama West Side Story directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Ansel Elgort, Rachel Zegler, Ariana DeBose, Mike Faist, Josh Andrés Rivera, David Alvarez, Corey Stoll, Brian d’Arcy James, Ana Isabelle and Rita Moreno. The film’s music was originally written for the stage musical of the same title by Leonard Bernstein (with lyrics by Stephen Sondheim) and has been adapted by David Newman (Anastasia, Ice Age, Serenity, The Flintstones). Gustavo Dudamel conducted the New York and Los Angeles Philharmonic. Hollywood Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the songs and score from the movie last week. Also opening wide is the sports drama National Champions directed by Ric Roman Waugh and starring Stephan James, J.K. Decca Records has released the full soundtrack album for the musical drama Cyrano. The album features the songs from the movie written by Bryce Dessner & Aaron Dessner (of The National), with lyrics by Matt Berninger & Carin Besser and performed by cast members Haley Bennett, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Ben Mendelsohn & others, as well as selections of Bryce & Aaron’s originals score performed by the London Contemporary Orchestra. Also included is The National’s original song Someone Desperate, which has previously been released as a digital single. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download here.
