Mamut Records has released a soundtrack album for the sci-fi thriller Shadow of the Cat (La Sombra del Gato). The album features the film’s original music composed by Nahuel Maeso & April May June. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon (and any other major digital music services), where you can also check out audio samples. Shadow of the Cat is written and directed by José María Cicala and stars Danny Trejo, Maite Lanata, Guillermo Zapata, Mónica Antonópulos, Rita Cortese and Miguel Ángel Solá. The movie revolves around a family living on an isolated farmwithout telephones or internet, when the teenage daughter runs away into town one day and gets her hands on a mobile phone. East Prussian Archive has released a soundtrack album for the HBO documentary Four Hours at the Capitol. The album features the film’s original music composed by David Schweitzer (Emma, Wonders of Life, The Rise of the Murdoch Dynasty, Inside North Korea’s Dynasty, Charlie & Lola). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on all major digital music platforms, including Amazon. Four Hours at the Capitol is produced and directed by Jamie Roberts and chronicles the insurrection at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, when thousands of American citizens from across the country gathered in Washington D.C. to protest the results of the 2020 presidential election. The album features the show’s original score composed by Martin Lingnau & Ingmar Süberkrüb (Luis and the Aliens, Charité). The movie is directed by Ruben Fleischer (Venom, Zombieland) and stars Tom Holland, Mark Wahlberg, Sophia Ali, Tati Gabrielle and Antonio Banderas. The action adventure follows a young street-smart Nathan Drake on his first treasure hunting adventure with wisecracking partner Victor “Sully” Sullivan in a dangerous pursuit of “the greatest treasure never found” while also tracking clues that may lead to Nathan’s long-lost brother. Five new movies are opening in theaters nationwide this week:
Already playing in theaters since this past Wednesday is the animated sequel Sing 2 written and directed by Garth Jennings and starring Matthew McConaughey, Reese Witherspoon, Scarlett Johansson, Taron Egerton, Bono, Tori Kelly, Nick Kroll, Bobby Cannavale, Halsey, Letitia Wright and Pharrell Williams. The film’s original score is composed by Joby Talbot (The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, Closed Circuit, Penelope). Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music earlier this week (click here for the full album details) and Republic Records has released a separate album featuring the songs from the movie (including original tracks by Sam I, Anitta, BIA & Jarina De Marco) last week (click here for more information).
Also playing in theaters since Wednesday is the sci-fi action sequel The Matrix Resurrections co-written and directed by Lana Wachowski and starring Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Neil Patrick Harris, Jessica Henwick, Jonathan Groff, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Jada Pinkett Smith. Johnny Klimek & Tom Tykwer (Cloud Atlas, Run Lola Run, The International, Perfume: The Story of a Murderer) have composed the film’s original music. WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score, as well as eleven remixes last week.
