‘The Bad News Bears’ 50th Anniversary Edition Soundtrack Album Announced

La-La Land Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1976 sports comedy The Bad News Bears directed by Michael Ritchie and starring Walter Matthau, Tatum O’Neal, Vic Morrow, Joyce Van Patten, Jackie Earle Haley, Ben Piazza and Alfred W. Lutter. The album features the newly remastered and expanded score from the film adapted and conducted by Jerry Fielding (The Wild Bunch, Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia, Escape from Alcatraz, Scorpio, The Gambler), as well as alternate tracks and source cues. The CD, which is limited to 1,000 copies, is now available to order on the label’s official website, where you can also check out the full album details, listen to audio clips and pre-order the soundtrack. Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack EP for Walt Disney Animation Studios’ short Versa. The 5-track EP features the film’s original music composed by Haim Mazar (Scary Movie, The Iceman, Sneakerheads, Woke, Desperation Road, The Taking of Deborah Logan, Self Help, I Am Wrath) who recorded his score with a 65-piece orchestra. The 55th Anniversary Edition album features the remastered and expanded original score from the film composed, arranged and conducted by Academy Award winner John Barry (Dances with Wolves, Goldfinger, Out of Africa, Somewhere in Time, On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, Body Heat), including previously unreleased music, as well as alternate tracks and additional source cues. The film is directed by Nicolas Winding Refn (Drive, The Neon Demon) and stars Sophie Thatcher, Charles Melton, Havana Rose Liu, Diego Calva, Kristine Froseth, Shioli Kutsuna, Aoi Yamada and Hidetoshi Nishijima.
