Premiering in the U.S. today is the British limited series The Gold written by Neil Forsyth and starring Hugh Bonneville, Jack Lowden, Tom Cullen, Dominic Cooper, Charlotte Spencer, Emun Elliott, Sean Harris, Ellora Torchia and Stefanie Martini. The show’s original music is composed by Simon Goff. Silva Screen Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score earlier this year. Check out our soundtrack announcement for the full album details and to learn more about the 6-parter, which premiered in the UK on BBC One and is making its U.S. debut on Paramount+.

Premiering on Wednesday, June 28, is the British Apple TV+ limited series Hijack created by George Kay & Jim Field Smith and starring Idris Elba, Archie Panjabi, Christine Adams and Max Beesley. Anne Nikitin (American Animals, Mrs. Wilson, The Dropout, Fate: The Winx Saga, Dangerous Liaison) has composed the show’s original music. ‘Sweet Home Alabama’ Digital Score Album Released

Hollywood Records has released a digital version of the score album for the 2002 romantic comedy Sweet Home Alabama directed by Andy Tennant and starring Reese Witherspoon, Josh Lucas, Patrick Dempsey, Mary Kay Place, Fred Ward, Jean Smart and Candice Bergen. The album features the original score from the Touchstone Pictures production composed by Academy Award nominee George Fenton (Gandhi, Dangerous Liaisons, Groundhog Day, Anna and the King, The Blue Planet, Hitch). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. The album has previously been released as a (now out-of-print) CD edition in early 2003. Mimi Webb’s Original Song ‘This Moment’ from ‘Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken’ Released

Back Lot Music has released the original song This Moment from DreamWorks Animation’s feature Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken. The track written by Kiddo AI, JKash, DallasK & Lauv (aka Ari Neff) and performed by Mimi Webb is now available to stream/download on all major digital music services, including Amazon. Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the comedy No Hard Feelings directed by Gene Stupnitsky and starring Jennifer Lawrence, Andrew Barth Feldman, Matthew Broderick and Laura Benanti. The film’s original score is composed by Mychael Danna (Life of Pi, Where the Crawdads Sing, Moneyball, Onward) & Jessica Rose Weiss (Cinderella, Don’t Make Me Go, The Independent). Madison Gate Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score, as well as two songs from the movie today. Opening in a few hundred theaters today is the thriller God Is a Bullet directed by Nick Cassavetes and starring Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Maika Monroe, Jamie Foxx, January Jones, Karl Glusman, Paul Johansson and David Thornton. Aaron Zigman (The Notebook, Bridge of Terabithia, Sex and the City, The Proposal, John Q) has composed the film’s original score. No word on a score release. Benjamin Wallfisch Scoring J.C. Chandor’s ‘Kraven the Hunter’

Benjamin Wallfisch (It, Blade Runner 2049, Shazam!, Hidden Figures, The Invisible Man) has recently been scoring the upcoming action adventure Kraven the Hunter. The film is directed by J.C. Chandor (Margin Call, All Is Lost) and stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ariana DeBose, Alessandro Nivola, Christopher Abbott, Fred Hechinger and Russell Crowe. The movie tells the story about how and why the title character came to be, before his notorious vendetta with Spider-Man. Art Marcum & Matt Holloway (Iron Man, Uncharted) and Richard Wenk (The Equalizer, The Magnificent Seven) wrote the screenplay based on the Marvel Comics. Read the rest of this entry »

‘The Idol’ Episode 4 Soundtrack Single Released

Republic Records has released a digital single featuring the songs from the fourth episode of the HBO original series The Idol. The 3-track single includes the tracks One of the Girls performed by Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye (who also co-wrote the song), JENNIE & Lily-Rose Depp, The Weeknd’s cover of John Lennon’s Jealous Guy and Fill the Void by The Weeknd, Depp & Ramsey. The label has previously released three singles featuring music from Episode 1, Episode 2 & Episode 3 over the last few weeks and a full album is scheduled to come out on June 30. K.Flay’s Original Song ‘T-Rex’ from Netflix’s ‘Nimona’ Released

Netflix Music has released the original song T-Rex from the Netflix original animated film Nimona. The track is co-written (with Jason Suwito) and performed by K.Flay and is now available to stream/download on all major digital music services, including Amazon. ‘City Hall’ Deluxe Edition Soundtrack Album Announced

Varese Sarabande has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1996 drama City Hall directed by Harold Becker and starring Al Pacino, John Cusack, Bridget Fonda, David Paymer, Danny Aiello and Martin Landau. The album features the film’s expanded original score composed and conducted by Academy Award winner Jerry Goldsmith (The Omen, Planet of the Apes, Chinatown, L.A. Confidential, Basic Instinct, Patton, Poltergeist), including previously unreleased music, as well as alternate cues. Atlantic Records has released the fourth song from Greta Gerwig’s fantasy comedy Barbie. Available to stream/download now on all major digital music services is Barbie World performed by Nicki Minaj & Ice Spice and includes a sample of Aqua’s 1997 hit song Barbie Girl. ‘Mouse Hunt’ Deluxe Edition Soundtrack Album Announced

Varese Sarabande has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1997 comedy Mouse Hunt directed by Gore Verbinski and starring Nathan Lane, Lee Evans, Maury Chaykin and Christopher Walken. The album features the expanded original score from the DreamWorks Pictures production composed and conducted by Alan Silvestri (Back to the Future, Forrest Gump, Avengers: Endgame, Captain America, Cast Away, The Abyss), including over 30 minutes of previously unreleased music.
