Sven Faulconer (Scream VI, Unstable, Blood Father, The Elephant Whisperers, The Last Ice) is scoring the upcoming superhero movie Hellboy: The Crooked Man. The film is directed by Brian Taylor (Crank, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance) and stars Jack Kesy in the title role, Adeline Rudolph as Bobbie Jo Song, Jefferson White as Tom Ferrel, as well as Leah McNamara, Hannah Margetson, Joseph Marcell and Martin Bassindale. The movie is set in the 1950s and follows rookie BPRD agent Song who gets tasked with delivering a spider to the Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense and must enlist the help of Hellboy to confront the malevolent Crooked Man, who has returned to Earth to harvest souls for the devil. ‘Great Absence’ Soundtrack Released

CREATPS has released a soundtrack album for the Japanese drama Great Absence (Oinaru fuzai). The album features the film’s original music composed by Koji Itoyama. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and most other major digital music services. Also listen to the composer’s first track (Way Back) below. Great Absence is co-written and directed by Kei Chika-ura and stars Mirai Moriyama, Tatsuya Fuji, Yoko Maki and Hideko Hara. Alan Silvestri (Back to the Future, Forrest Gump, Predator, Cast Away, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, The Polar Express) is attached to score Marvel Studios’ upcoming features Avengers: Doomsday & Avengers: Secret Wars. The films will be directed by Joe & Anthony Russo (Captain America: The Winter Soldier & Civil War) and star Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom/Victor Von Doom. No other casting announcements have been made yet. Stephen McFeely (The Chronicles of Narnia, Pain & Gain) is writing the screenplay for both installments. Premiering on Wednesday, July 31, is the Mexican Apple TV+ original series Women in Blue (Las Azules) created by Fernando Rovzar & Pablo Aramendi and stars Bárbara Mori, Sariñana, Téllez, Rasgado, Leonardo Sbaraglia, Miguel Rodarte, Horacio García Rojas and Christian Tappan. The show’s original music is composed by Lucas Vidal (Fast & Furious 6, The Raven, Elite, Palm Trees in the Snow, The Deliverance, Welcome to Eden, The Quiet Ones, The Cold Light of Day). Platoon will release a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score on Wednesday and has already released the main title song No Soy Tuya performed by Ximena Sariñana earlier this month. ‘The Transformers’ Animated Series Digital Soundtrack Album Released

Hasbro has released a digital version of the 40th Anniversary edition soundtrack album for the 1984 animated series The Transformers produced by Marvel Productions and Sunbow Productions in association with Toei Animation. The album features selections of the show’s (newly remastered) original music composed by Johnny Douglas (The Incredible Hulk, Spider-Man, G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero) & Robert J. Walsh (Revenge of the Ninjas, My Little Pony: The Movie), as well as new remix of the project’s theme song. The film’s original score is composed by Rob Simonsen (The Whale, Ghostbusters: Afterlife, Foxcatcher, The Way Back, The Adam Project, The Age of Adaline, (500) Days of Summer, Nerve). Hollywood Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score (click here for the full album details), as well as a separate album featuring the songs from the movie (click here for more information) and a deluxe edition featuring both score and songs his past Wednesday. World Premiere Soundtrack Release for Showtime’s ‘Fallen Angels’ Announced

Dragon’s Domain Records has announced the world premiere soundtrack release for the 1993 Showtime neo-noir anthology series Fallen Angels developed by Steve Golin, created by William Horberg and executive produced by Sydney Pollack. The album features the show’s main title theme written by Academy Award winner Elmer Bernstein (The Magnificent Seven, Ghostbusters, To Kill a Mockingbird, Airplane, Far from Heaven, Stripes), as well as selections of the original music from the drama’s first season composed by Peter Bernstein (21 Jump Street, The Ewok Adventure, Bolero, My Science Project). The Vol. 1 soundtrack is now available to order as a limited edition CD on the label’s official website, where you can also check out audio samples.
