The show is an adaptation of Stephen King’s bestselling novel and is produced by Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment and DreamWorks Television. The limited 13-episodes series is set in Chester’s Mill, a small New England town that is suddenly and inexplicably sealed off from the rest of the world by an enormous transparent dome. The show’s cast includes Mike Vogel, Rachelle Lefevre, Colin Ford, Natalie Martinez, Alexander Koch, Britt Robertson, Nicholas Strong, Jolene Purdy, Aisha Hinds and Dean Norris. Spielberg is executive producing the project with King, Neil Baer (ER, A Gifted Man), Brian K. romeo-and-julietSony Classical will release the soundtrack album for Carlo Carlei’s upcoming film adaptation of Romeo & Juliet. The album features the film’s original score composed and conducted by Academy Award-winning composer James Horner. According to Amazon.co.uk, the soundtrack will be released in the UK on July 22, 2013. Check back on this page for the full album details. Romeo & Juliet based on Shakepeare’s play and adapted for the screen by Julian Fellowes (Gosford Park) stars Douglas Booth and Hailee Steinfeld in the title roles. The movie’s cast also includes Damian Lewis, Natascha McElhone, Lesley Manville, Ed Westwick, Paul Giamatti, Kodi Smit-McPhee and Stellan Skarsgard. The movie will be released in the UK on July 26. lewis-riceAccording to The Hollywood Reporter/Billboard, Jenny Lewis and Johnathan Rice are set to score the upcoming musical drama Song One. The movie stars Anne Hathaway, Mary Steenburgen and British folk artist Johnny Flynn and follows a young woman who develops a relationship with her comatose brother’s favorite indie rock star. The film marks the feature directorial debut of Kate Barker-Froyland who also wrote the screenplay. Christopher Woodrow (The Immigrant, Blood Ties) and Molly Conners are producing the project alongside Hathaway, Marc Platt (Drive, Wanted, Legally Blonde), Jonathan Demme (The Silence of the Lambs) and Adam Shulman. into-the-westParamount Music and La-La Land Records will release a soundtrack album for the mini-series Into the West. The album features the Emmy Award-winning score composed by Geoff Zanelli (Disturbia, The Odd Life of Timothy Green). Paramount Music will distribute the digital version of the soundtrack, with La-La Land Records handling the physical release. The 2-disc album will be released on June 18, 2013. Into the West produced by DreamWorks Television and Steven Spielberg chronicles the struggles, heartache and conquests of two families in 19th century America. The project’s cast includes such actors as Josh Brolin, Keri Russell, Skeet Ulrich, Balthazar Getty, Matthew Modine, Beau Bridges, Sean Astin, Lance Henriksen, Rachael Leigh Cook and Keith Carradine. dom-hemingwayRolfe Kent has recently scored the upcoming crime comedy Dom Hemingway. The film is written and directed by Richard Shepard and stars Jude Law, Richard E. Grant, Demian Bichir, Emilia Clarke, Kerry Condon, Jumayn Hunter and Madalina Ghenea. The movie follows a notorious safecracker who is looking for payback from a crime boss. Jeremy Thomas (The Last Emperor, A Dangerous Method, The Dreamers) is producing the project for Recorded Picture Company, alongside BBC Films, CinemaNX/Isle of Man Film, Pinewood Films and Lionsgate. mistressesPremiering tomorrow, June 3, on ABC is the new drama Mistresses starring Alyssa Milano, Yunjin Kim, Rochelle Aytes, Jes Macallan, Brett Tucker, Jason George and Erik Stocklin. The series about the scandalous lives of a sexy and sassy group of four girlfriends is based on the UK series of the same title and is executive produced by Rina Mimoun (Privileged), K.J. Steinberg (Gossip Girl), Robert Sertner (Revenge) and Douglas Rae (Wuthering Heights). The show’s original score is composed by Danny Lux (Grey’s Anatomy, Ally McBeal, Boston Legal). Rob Simonsen (500 Days of Summer, The Way, Way Back) also contributed music for the pilot episode. The album features selections from the score of the show’s third season composed by Ramin Djawadi (Iron Man, Pacific Rim, Person of Interest). Also featured is Kerry Ingram’s It’s Always Summer Under the Sea and The Hold Steady’s The Bear and the Maiden Fair. The film is directed by Susan Seidelman (Desperately Seeking Susan, She-Devil) and stars Brooke Shields, Wanda Sykes, Virginia Madsen, Daryl Hannah, Camryn Manheim, Mark Povinelli and Eric Roberts. The movie follows an unlikely group of middle-aged women who challenge the high school girls’ state basketball champs to raise money for a mobile breast cancer screening unit. Brad Henning wrote the screenplay and is also producing the project with Nina Henderson Moore (Woman Thou Art Loosed: On the 7th Day) and Seidelman. hans-zimmerHans Zimmer has confirmed in a recent interview with Collider that he has started work on Christopher Nolan’s upcoming sci-fi film Interstellar. The movie is based on a script by Jonathan Nolan (The Dark Knight, Person of Interest) and stars Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, and Michael Caine. No specific plot details have been revealed yet, but the movie is supposed to “depict a heroic interstellar voyage to the farthest borders of our scientific understanding”. Nolan is producing the Warner Bros. and Paramount Pictures production with Emma Thomas and Lynda Obst (How to Lose a Guy in 10 DaysThe Siege). Two new movies are opening wide this weekend:

after-earthOpening in most theaters is the sci-fi adventure After Earth directed by M. Night Shyamalan and starring Will Smith and Jaden Smith. The film’s music is composed by James Newton Howard (The Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, Signs, The Village) who regularly works with the director. Sony Masterworks has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score digitally earlier this week. The CD version is currently set to be released on June 11. now-you-see-meAlso opening wide is the heist thriller Now You See Me directed by Louis Leterrier and starring Jesse Eisenberg, Mark Ruffalo, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Isla Fisher, Melanie Laurent, Woody Harrelson, Michael Kelly, Dave Franco and Common. Brian Tyler (Iron Man 3, Fast Five, The Expendables) composed the film’s original score. Glassnote Records has released a soundtrack album featuring selections from Tyler’s score, as well as Two Door Cinema Club’s Sun, Phoenix’s Entertainment and a remix of Tyler’s score by Robert DeLong.
