Three new movies are opening nationwide this week:

Already in theaters since this past Wednesday is the action comedy Hit & Run directed by Dax Shepard and David Palmer and starring Shepard, Kristen Bell, Bradley Cooper, Tom Arnold, Beau Bridges, Kristin Chenoweth, David Koechner and Michael Rosenbaum. The film’s score is composed by Julian Wass and Bob Mervak has provided additional music. Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the film’s songs by artists including Ishmael Jingo, Lou Rawls, Kool and the Gang, John Martyn, Dazz Band and The Highlighters. Also opening wide is the action thriller Premium Rush co-written and directed by David Koepp and starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Jamie Chung, Dania Ramirez and Michael Shannon. David Sardy (Zombieland, 21, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance) has composed the film’s original score. No soundtrack album has been released so far. The movie follows a New York City bike messenger who picks up a package at Columbia University and subsequently catches the attention of a dirty cop. The track list for the soundtrack release of Joe Wright’s upcoming new film adaptation of Anna Karenina has been revealed. The album features the film’s original music written by Academy Award-winning composer Dario Marianelli (Atonement, Pride & Prejudice). The soundtrack is set to be released in the UK on September 10, 2012 by Decca Classics. UPDATE (September 2, 2012): The album is set to be released in the US on November 13 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Audio clips can be checked out below. Anne Dudley is currently working as the music producer for the upcoming new film adaptation of the classic musical Les Miserables featuring the music composed by Claude-Michel Schonberg. The film is helmed by Academy Award-winning director Tom Hooper (The King’s Speech) and stars Hugh Jackman in the lead role of Jean Valjean, Russell Crowe as Inspector Javert, Anne Hathaway as Fantine, Amanda Seyfried as Cosette, Eddie Redmayne as Marius and Helena Bonham Carter & Sacha Baron Cohen as Mr. and Mrs. Thernardier. Varese Sarabande has announced the details of the soundtrack album for the historical drama For Greater Glory: The True Story of Cristiada. The album features the film’s music composed and conducted by Academy Award-winning composer James Horner. The soundtrack’s release date has been pushed back to October 2, 2012 since our last update. Sony Classical will be releasing the highly anticipated soundtrack for Steven Spielberg’s upcoming biopic Lincoln. The album features the film’s music composed and conducted by John Williams who recorded his score with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Chorus earlier this year. JWFAN is reporting that the soundtrack will be released on November 6, 2012. To pre-order the album, visit Amazon. Lincoln marks Williams’ 26th collaboration with Spielberg. The film starring Daniel Day-Lewis as Abraham Lincoln, alongside Sally Field, Tommy Lee Jones, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Hal Holbrook, John Hawkes, David Strathairn, James Spader, Tim Blake Nelson, Jeremy Strong, Bruce McGill and Joseph Cross will be released in select cities on November 9 before expanding nationwide on November 16. Mowg Scoring ‘The Last Stand’

Mowg is currently composing the music for the upcoming action thriller The Last Stand. The film is directed by Kim Jee-Woon (A Tale of Two Sisters, The Good, the Bad, the Weird) and stars Arnold Schwarzenegger as the sheriff of the quiet US border town who is preparing to make a last stand to intercept a notorious drug baron from crossing the border. Forest Whitaker, Johnny Knoxville, Luis Guzman, Rodrigo Santoro, Zach Gilford, Jaimie Alexander, Genesis Rodriguez and Peter Stormare are co-starring. Andrew Knauser has written the screenplay and Lorenzo di Bonaventura (Transformers, Red, Salt) is producing the film through Di Bonaventura Pictures. Milan Records will be releasing a soundtrack album for the French drama Chicken with Plums. The album includes the film’s original score composed Olivier Bernet. The soundtrack will be released digitally in the US on August 28, 2012 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio clips from all tracks on the album. Milan previously released the album overseas under the film’s original title Poulet aux prunes. ‘Amour’ Soundtrack Details

The details of the soundtrack album for Michael Haneke’s critically praised drama Amour have been announced. The album includes the classical music featured in the film performed by French pianist Alexandre Tharaud. The soundtrack will be released overseas on September 21, 2012 and in the US on October 12 by Virgin Classics. (UPDATE: December 2012: A physical release is scheduled to be released on January 22, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon). Check out audio clips after the jump. Amour starring Jean-Louis Trintignant, Emmanuelle Riva and Isabelle Huppert centers on the final months in an elderly Parisian couple’s marriage. The film premiered at this year’s Cannes Film Festival where it won the Palme d’Or and has been picked up by Sony Pictures Classics for a US theatrical release on December 19, 2012. Atticus Ross is scoring the upcoming crime thriller Broken City. The film is directed by Allen Hughes (From HellMenace 2 Society) and stars Mark Wahlberg as a Brooklyn detective who is hired by a powerful politician, played by Russell Crowe, to identify his wife’s lover, who is subsequently found and killed. Catherine Zeta-Jones, Kyle Chandler, Barry Pepper, Natalie Martinez, Alona Tal, Jeffrey Wright, Justin Chambers, James Ransone and Griffin Dunne are co-starring. Brian Tucker has written the screenplay and Wahlberg and Hughes are producing the New Regency and Emmett/Furla Films co-production with Randall Emmett & George Furla (16 Blocks, Righteous Kills) and Stephen Levinson (Contraband, Entourage).  Allen Hughes has previously collaborated with Ross on the 2010 post-apocalyptic film The Book of Eli starring Denzel Washington and on the TV series Touching Evil. Varese Sarabande Records has announced two new soundtrack albums. First up is a soundtrack for the Clint Eastwood-starring drama Trouble with the Curve. The albums features the film’s original score composed by Marco Beltrami, as well as the original song On My Way (To The Big Time) by Randy Brown. The physical version of the soundtrack is set to be released on October 2, 2012 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The full details will be posted on this site in a few weeks.
