La-La Land Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1982 fantasy adventure The Dark Crystal directed by Jim Henson & Frank Oz and starring Stephen Garlick, Lisa Maxwell, Billie Whitelaw, Barry Dennen and Percy Edwards. The 3-CD set features the expanded original score written for the film’s initial cut composed by Trevor Jones (The Last of the Mohicans, Cliffhanger, Labyrinth, Mississippi Burning, Merlin, Dark City, Excalibur) and performed by the London Symphony Orchestra conducted by Marcus Dods, including previously unreleased music. The soundtrack, which is limited to 5,000 copies, is now available to order on Amazon and the label’s official website, where you can also check out audio samples and find out more about the album. Quartet Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1971 Italian thriller Confessions of a Police Captain (Confessione di un commissario di polizia al procuratore della repubblica) co-written and directed by Damiano Damiani and starring Franco Nero, Martin Balsam and Marilù Tolo. The album features the expanded and remastered original score from the film composed by Riz Ortolani (Mondo Cane, The Yellow Rolls-Royce, The 7th Dawn, The Spy with the Cold Nose, The Glory Guys), including previously unreleased music.
