Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the horror sequel Wolf Creek 2. The album features the film’s original score composed by Johnny Klimek (Cloud Atlas, One Hour Photo, The International). Also included are the songs from the film by such artists as Steppenwolf, The Tokens, Nellie Melba and Patsy Cline. The soundtrack will be released digitally on May 6, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Check out audio clips after the jump. Guillaume Roussel to Score ‘Outcast’

Guillaume Roussel has been tapped to score the upcoming martial arts action movie Outcast. The film marks the directorial debut of stunt coordinator and fight choreographer Nick Powell and stars Nicolas Cage, Hayden Christensen and Liu Yifei. The movie is set in the 12th Century and follows two European Crusaders who chose to wander off toward western China, where they become entangled in romance and antagonism with local royalty. James Dormer (Strike Back) has written the screenplay. Jeremy Bolt (Resident Evil, Death Race) is producing the project with Alan Zhang, Karine Martin (The Moth Diaries), Leonard Glowinski, Ying Ye, Gary Hamilton (Bait), Chris Milburn (Getaway, An American Haunting), George Mizen and Tove Christensen (Shattered Glass). On Sunday, April 27, the Newport Beach Film Festival Seminar Series will present the composer panel Lights, Camera, Action – Creating Music for the Action Film (and other genres). The participating composers include John Ottman (X2, Superman Returns, The Fantastic Four) who recently completed his score for X-Men: Days of Future Past, Christophe Beck (Frozen, The Hangover) who most recently finished work on the sci-fi action film Edge of Tomorrow starring Tom Cruise, Christopher Young (Spider-Man 3, Entrapment) who scored this year’s martial arts epic The Monkey King, one of the all-time highest grossing films in China, Marco Beltrami (World War Z, The Wolverine) whose action movie credits in 2014 include the upcoming November Man starring Pierce Brosnan and Stephen Endelman (Home of the Brave) whose most recent feature Rob the Mob is currently playing in select theaters. Kevin Kiner to Score ‘Star Wars Rebels’

During this past weekend’s WonderCon in Anaheim, CA, it was revealed that composer Kevin Kiner will be composing the score for the upcoming animated series Star Wars Rebels. The show is set between Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and Episode IV: A New Hope and takes place in a time when the Empire is securing its grip on the galaxy and hunting down the last of the Jedi Knights as a fledgling rebellion against the Empire is taking shape. The series’ voice cast includes Freddie Prinze, Jr., Taylor Gray, Steve Blum, Tiya Sircar and Vanessa Marshall. ‘Chef’ Soundtrack Details

Milan Records will release a soundtrack album for Jon Favreau’s comedy Chef. The album features the songs from the film by artists including Pete Rodriguez, Courtney John, The Martinis, Liquid Liquid, Louie Ramirez, El Michels Affair and more . Also included is a cue by composer Lyle Workman (Superbad, The 40-Year Old Virgin) who wrote additional music for the film. The soundtrack will be released digitally on May 6, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A CD version will be released later in May and is available for pre-order here. Chef is written and directed by Favreau who also stars in the film alongside Sofia Vergara, John Leguizamo, Bobby Cannavale, Dustin Hoffman, Oliver Platt, Emjay Anthony, Scarlett Johansson and Robert Downey, Jr. The movie follows a chef who quits his job at a prominent Los Angeles restaurant after refusing to compromise his creative integrity for its controlling owner. The film’s original music is composed by William Ross (Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, My Dog Skip, Ladder 49). The composer recorded his score at Abbey Road Studios in London. Josh Kramon to Score The CW’s ‘iZombie’ and MTV’s ‘Happyland’

Josh Kramon is composing the score for the CW drama pilot iZombie. The show based on the DC Comics title of the same title is created by Rob Thomas & Diane Ruggiero and stars Rose McIver, Robert Buckley, Malcolm Goodwin, Alexandra Krosney and David Anders. The supernatural procedural and follows a medical student-turned-zombie who takes a job in the coroner’s office in order to gain access to the brains she must reluctantly eat so that she can maintain her humanity. Thomas is directing the pilot episode and also executive producing the Warner Bros. Television production with Ruggerio, Danielle Stokdyk and Dan Etheridge. Bruno Coulais Scoring Anne Fontaine’s ‘Gemma Bovery’

Bruno Coulais is the composer of the upcoming drama Gemma Bovery. The film is directed by Anne Fontaine and stars Gemma Arterton, Jason Flemyng, Mel Raido and Fabrice Luchini. The movie is based on a graphic novel by Posy Simmonds, which is loosely based on Gustave Flabert’s Madame Bovary and chronicles the last last few months in the life of the English expatriate living in Normandy. Philippe Carcassonne (Coco Before Chanel, The Illusionist) and Faye Ward are producing the Gaumont production. Fontaine has previously collaborated with Coulais on the 2011 romantic comedy My Worst Nightmare.
