13-hoursLorne Balfe has been hired to score Michael Bay’s upcoming action drama 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi. The film stars James Badge Dale, John Krasinski and Max Martini. The movie centers on the six members of a security team who fought to defend the American diplomatic compound in Benghazi from an attack of Islamist militants on September 11, 2012 – the 11th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.. Chuck Hogan (The Strain) has written the screenplay based on the book of the same title by Mitchell Zukoff. Bay is also producing the drama with Erwin Stoff (Edge of Tomorrow, Unbroken, Constantine). hmmaLast night, the 6th Hollywood Music in Media Awards (HMAA) were handed out at the Fonda Theatre in Hollywood, CA. Dan Romer was awarded for his score for Cary Fukunaga’s critically acclaimed Netflix original movie Beasts of No Nation in the Best Original Score – Feature Film category. Tom Holkenborg was honored for his music for George Miller’s Mad Max: Fury Road in the Original Score – Sci-Fi/Fantasy Film and thanked fellow nominees Christophe Beck and Harry Gregson-Williams for giving him his first jobs in the industry during his acceptance speech. Christophe Beck received his second HMMA for his work for The Peanuts Movie in the Best Score – Animated Film category. robinson-crusoeRamin Djawadi has signed on to score the upcoming 3D animated feature Robinson Crusoe. The film is directed by Ben Stassen and Vincent Kesteloot and tells Crusoe’s story from the point of view of his quirky companions, including his parrot Tuesday, who dreams of exploring the world. Stassen is also producing the project for nWave Pictures. Djawadi has previously scored a number of features for nWave and Stassen, including Fly Me to the Moon, the Sammy’s Adventures movies, African Safari and House of Magic. Studiocanal will release Robinson Crusoe in early 2016 in Europe.
