Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the Syfy original series The Expanse. The album features the show’s original music composed by Clinton Shorter (District 9, Contraband, Pompeii, Code Black, 2 Guns). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, May 20 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. The Expanse is created by Mark Fergus & Hawk Ostby based on the New York Times-bestselling series of novels of the same title and stars Thomas Jane, Steven Strait, Shohreh Aghdashlo, Florence Faivre, Jay Hernandez, Cas Anvar, Dominique Tipper, Wes Chatham and Paulo Costanzo. The series is set 200 years in the future, after mankind has colonized the solar system and follows a detective and a rogue ship’s captain who come together for what starts as the case of a missing woman and evolves into a race across the solar system to expose the greatest conspiracy in human history. Sony Masterworks will release the official soundtrack album for the historical drama Free State of Jones. The album features the film’s original music composed by Nicholas Britell (The Big Short, A Tale of Love and Darkness). Also included is the original song I’m Crying by Lucinda Williams. The soundtrack will be released on June 24, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Free State of Jones is directed by Gary Ross (The Hunger Games, Seabiscuit, Pleasantville) and stars Matthew McConaughey, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Mahershala Ali and Keri Russell. Alberto Iglesias to Score Terry Gilliam’s ‘The Man Who Killed Don Quixote’

It was announced today that Alberto Iglesias is set to compose the music for Terry Gilliam’s upcoming film adaptation of The Man Who Killed Don Quixote. The film starring Adam Driver, Michael Palin and Olga Kurylenko follows a jaded young advertising executive who returns to the Spanish village where he made a film based on Cervantes’ masterpiece years earlier and meets a villager who believes himself to be Don Quixote as he gets swept up in a fantastic extravaganza complete with damsels in distress, knights and giants. Gilliam (Brazil, The Fisher King, The Brothers Grimm) has also co-written the screenplay with Tony Grisoni (Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Tideland). The movie follows Alice as she returns to Raccoon City, where the Umbrella Corporation is gathering its forces for a final strike against the only remaining survivors of the apocalypse. Intrada Records has announced a new soundtrack release for the 1974 thriller Chinatown directed by Roman Polanski and starring Jack Nicholson, Faye Dunaway and John Huston. The album features the film’s expanded and remastered original score from the Paramount Pictures production composed and conducted by Jerry Goldsmith (The Omen, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Alien, Planet of the Apes, Patton), including previously unreleased music. The release features both a remastered reissue of the original 1974 soundtrack album, as well as the complete score. Goldsmith received an Academy Award nomination for his work on the film.
