Siddhartha Khosla has been tapped to score the upcoming NBC comedy drama This Is Us. The show is created by Dan Fogelman (Crazy, Stupid, Love, Bolt, Cars, Danny Collins, Galavant) and stars Mandy Moore, Milo Ventimiglia and Sterling K. Brown. The series centers around a group of people born on the same day, including a married couple expecting triplets in Pittsburgh and a television actor growing bored of his fly bachelor lifestyle. Fogelman is also executive producing the 20th Century Fox Television production with Jess Rosenthal, Charlie Gogolak, as well as John Requa & Glenn Ficarra (Crazy, Stupid, Love, Focus, I Love You Phillip Morris) who also directed the pilot episode. James Horner’s Complete ‘The Rocketeer’ Soundtrack to Be Released

Intrada Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1991 period superhero movie The Rocketeer directed by Joe Johnston and starring Bill Campbell, Alan Arkin, Jennifer Connelly, Paul Sorvino and Timothy Dalton. The album features the expanded score from the Walt Disney Pictures production composed and conducted by James Horner (Titanic, Avatar, The Amazing Spider-Man, Aliens, A Beautiful Mind, Apollo 13), including more than 20 minutes of previously unreleased music. The 2-CD set features both the composer’s complete score, as well as the content from the 1991 original soundtrack album. Johnny Klimek to Score Greg McLean’s ‘Jungle’

Johnny Klimek is set to reteam with director Greg McLean on the upcoming psychological thriller Jungle. The film stars Daniel Radcliffe as a young adventurer who travels into the Amazon with two friends and a guide in what turns out to be a dangerous and deadly expedition. Thomas Kretschmann, Alex Russell, Joel Jackson and Yasmin Kassim are co-starring. Justin Monjo has written the screenplay based on Yossi Ghinsberg’s memoir about his trip into the Amazon. Rihanna’s ‘Sledgehammer’ from ‘Star Trek Beyond’ Released

Roc Nation Records has released the original song Sledgehammer from the upcoming sci-fi adventure Star Trek Beyond. The track is performed by Rihanna who previously contributed songs to DreamWorks Animation’s Home. Sledgehammer is now available to download as a single on Amazon. Listen to the track, which is also featured in the film’s latest trailer, after the jump. As previously reported, Varese Sarabande will release the movie’s official soundtrack album featuring the score by Michael Giacchino. Star Trek Beyond directed by Justin Lin and starring Chris Pine, Zoe Saldana, Zachary Quinto, Simon Pegg, Karl Urban, John Cho, Anton Yelchin, Sofia Boutella and Idris Elba will be released nationwide on July 22 by Paramount Pictures. Premiering tonight is the new Showtime original series Roadies created by Cameron Crowe and starring Carla Gugino, Luke Wilson, Imogen Poots, Rafe Spall, Keisha Castle-Hughes, Peter Cambor, Colson Baker, Ron White, Luis Guzman, Jacqueline Byers and Rainn Wilson. Republic Records and Stardogs Records will release a soundtrack album featuring the songs from the drama by Bob Dylan, The Ramones, The Replacements, The Ting Tings & Jeff Buckley on August 26. ‘Me Before You’ Score Album Released

WaterTower Music has released a score album for the romantic drama Me Before You. The album features the film’s original music composed by Craig Armstrong (Moulin Rouge!, The Great Gatsby, The Incredible Hulk, World Trade Center, Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo & Juliet). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. As previously reported, Interscope Records has released a separate soundtrack featuring the songs from the movie. Me Before You is directed by Thea Sherrock and stars Emilia Clarke, Sam Claflin, Charles Dance, Janet McTeer, Jenna Coleman, Matthew Lewis, Stephen Peacocke, Vanessa Kirby and Brendan Coyle. Kris Dirksen is composing the score for the upcoming Cinemax original series Quarry. The show is created by Graham Gordy (The Love Guru) & Michael D. Fuller based on the novels of Max Allan Collins and stars Logan Marshall-Green, Jodi Balfour, Peter Mullan, Nikki Amuka-Bird and Damon Herriman. The series follows a Marine who returns home to Memphis from Vietnam in 1972 and finds himself shunned by those he loves and demonized by the public and is drawn into a network of killing and corruption. Gordy and Fuller are also executive producing the project with Steve Golin (The Revenant, Spotlight, Mr. Robot) and Greg Yaitanes (House) who directed all episodes of the first season. Walt Disney Records will release the official soundtrack album for the fantasy adventure Pete’s Dragon. The album features the film’s original music composed by Daniel Hart (Ain’t Them Bodies Saints, Comet, Tumbleweed), as well as the original song Nobody Knows (How to Say Goodbye) written by Andrew Tinker & Toby Halbrooks and performed by The Lumineers. Four new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the sci-fi action adventure Independence Day: Resurgence directed by Roland Emmerich and starring Liam Hemsworth, Jeff Goldblum, Bill Pullman, Judd Hirsch, Vivica A. Fox, Brent Spiner, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Jessie Usher, Maika Monroe and Sela Ward. The film’s original music is composed by Thomas Wander & Harald Kloser (2012, White House Down, The Day After Tomorrow, 10’000 BC). Heitor Pereira to Return for ‘Despicable Me 3’

Heitor Pereira will be returning to provide scoring duties on the upcoming animated sequel Despicable Me 3. The film is directed by Kyle Balda (Minion) & Pierre Coffin who helmed the first two installments in the series with Chris Renaud. Eric Guillon is co-directing the film, which is written by Cinco Paul & Ken Daurio (The Secret Life of Pets, The Lorax, Horton Hears a Who). Steve Carell returns as the voice of Gru, as well as the new character of Gru’s long lost identical twin Drew. Trey Parker has also joined the voice cast.
