Intrada Records has announced a soundtrack album for the fantasy adventure sequel The Monkey King 2. The album features the film’s original music composed by Christopher Young (Spider-Man 3, Ghost Rider, The Shipping News, Entrapment, The Hurricane). The soundtrack is now available to order on the label’s official website, where you can also check out audio samples. Intrada has previously released the composer’s music for the first part in the series. The Monkey King 2 is directed by Cheang Pou-soi and stars Aaron Kwok, Gong Li, Feng Shaofeng, Xiaoshenyang and Him Law. The movie tells the story of how the Monkey King protected the monk Xuanzang from being eaten by a shapeshifting demoness three times on a journey to collect the Buddhist sutras from India. ‘Dough’ Soundtrack Announced

Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the comedy Dough. The album features the film’s original music composed by Lorne Balfe (Terminator Genisys, Home, 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi, Penguins of Madagascar) and performed by the Chamber Orchestra of London. The soundtrack will be released on July 29, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Dough is directed by John Goldschmidt and stars Jonathan Pryce, Pauline Collins, Jerome Holder, Philip Davis, Ian Hart, Malachi Kirby, Andrew Ellis, Natasha Gordon, Melanie Freeman and Daniel Caltagirone. The movie follows a Jewish widower who hires a Muslim teenager to help out at his kosher bakery in London, and sales skyrocket when the latter’s marijuana is accidentally mixed into the dough. The line-up for several film music-related panels at Comic-Con 2016 has been announced. On Thursday, July 21, a number of film composers will participate in The 4th Annual Musical Anatomy of a Superhero. Henry Jackman (Captain America: Civil War & The Winter Soldier, X-Men: First Class), Tom Holkenborg (aka Junkie XL) (Deadpool, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice), John Ottman (X2, X-Men: Days of Future Past & Apocalypse) and Blake Neely (The Flash, Supergirl, Arrow) will be participating in a discussion moderated by composer George S. ‘Supergirl’ Season 1 Soundtrack Details

La-La Land Records has announced the details of the first soundtrack album for the superhero series Supergirl. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s first season composed by Blake Neely (The Flash, Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow, Blindspot, The Pacific). The soundtrack will be released later this month and will be available as a limited edition CD on the label’s official website. WaterTower Music will release a digital version on August 22. The album features the film’s original music composed by Michael McCuistion, Kristopher Carter & Lolita Ritmanis (Avengers: Assemble, Batman: The Animated Series, Batman Beyond). The details of the soundtrack album for the animated feature Sausage Party have been revealed. The album features the original song The Great Beyond written by Academy Award winner Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, Enchanted) and with lyrics by Glenn Slater, Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, Ariel Shaffir and Kantir. Also included is the movie’s original score composed by Menken and Christopher Lennertz (Ride Along, Horrible Bosses, Identity Thief), as well as other songs featured in the comedy by Meat Loaf, Wham!, Eric Carmen, The Isley Brothers, Three Dog Night, Spandau Ballet and JR JR. Two new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Expected to top the weekend box office is the animated feature The Secret Life of Pets directed by Chris Renaud & Yarrow Cheney and starring Louis C.K., Eric Stonestreet, Kevin Hart, Ellie Kemper, Lake Bell, Jenny Slate, Bobby Moynihan, Hannibal Buress and Albert Brooks. The film’s original music is composed by Alexandre Desplat (The Grand Budapest Hotel, The King’s Speech, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows). Also opening wide is the comedy Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates directed by Jake Szymanski and starring Zac Efron, Adam Devine, Anna Kendrick, Aubrey Plaza, Lyn Sugar Beard and Stephen Root. Jeff Cardoni (Silicon Valley, Just Friends, CSI: Miami) has composed the film’s original score. Bear McCreary to Score ‘Animal Crackers’

Bear McCreary is composing the score for the upcoming animated feature Animal Crackers. The film is directed by Tony Bancroft (Mulan) & Scott Christian Sava and features the voice talent of Emily Blunt, Sylvester Stallone, Ian McKellen, John Krasinski, Patrick Warburton and Danny DeVito. The movie centers on a family whose life is turned upside down when they inherit a rundown circus and a mysterious box of Animal Crackers, which magically changes the person who eats them into animals. Sava has also written the screenplay with Dean Lorey (Arrested Development) who is also producing the Blue Dream Studios production with George Lee, Marcus Englefield, James Thomason and Leiming Guan.
