Premiering on Wednesday, December 20, is the Disney+ original series Percy Jackson and the Olympians developed by Rick Riordan & Jonathan E. Steinberg based on Riordan’s book series and starring Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries and Aryan Simhadri. Bear McCreary (The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, 10 Cloverfield Lane, Outlander, The Walking Dead) has composed the themes for the show and Sparks & Shadows have provided the score. Hollywood Records will release a soundtrack album this coming Friday, December 22. Check out our previous news article to learn more about the 20th Television production, which will be available to stream exclusively on Disney+.

Premiering on Thursday, December 21, is the second season of the Peacock original anthology series Dr. Death written by Ashley Michel Hoban based on the Wondery podcast and starring Edgar Ramírez, Mandy Moore, Luke Kirby, Gustaf Hammarsten and Ashley Madekwe. The show’s original music is composed by Leopold Ross (Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, The Book of Eli, Death Note, Dispatches from Everywhere) & Nick Chuba (The Girl from Plainville, Operation Varsity Blues) who previously co-scored Season 1 with Atticus Ross. The new season, which  follows”Miracle Man” Paolo Macchiarini, a charming surgeon renowned for his innovative operations, will be available to stream on Peacock. Read the rest of this entry »

Gaumont has released a soundtrack album for the French comedy Christmas Unplanned (Noël Joyeux). The album features the film’s original music composed by Marc Chouarain (Galveston, Serial Bad Weddings, Breathe, Cerise). Christmas Unplanned is written and directed by Clément Michel and stars Franck Dubosc, Emmanuelle Devos, Danièle Lebrun and Danielle Fichaud. Gardener Recordings will release a soundtrack album for the DC animated movie Justice League: Crisis On Infinite Earths – Part One. The album features the film’s original music composed by Kevin Riepl (Superman: Man of Tomorrow, Green Lantern: Beware My Power, Cabin Fever,  Justice Society: World War II, The Night Crew). The soundtrack will be released digitally on January 9, 2023 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Justice League: Crisis On Infinite Earths – Part One is directed by Jeff Wamester and features the voices of Darren Criss as Superman, Stana Katic as Wonder Woman & Superwoman and Jensen Ackles as Batman/Bruce Wayne. The Warner Bros. Animation, DC and Warner Bros. Home Entertainment production based on the comic book limited series Crisis on Infinite Earths by Marv Wolfman & George Pérez also stars Matt Bomer as The Flash/Barry Allen, Jimmi Simpson as Green Arrow, Meg Donnelly as Supergirl & Harbinger and Zachary Quinto as Lex Luthor. HTM Television has released a soundtrack album for the ITV drama Payback. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Chris Roe (Trigger Point, Blue Jean, Mission Control: The Unsung Heroes of Apollo, After Love, Wolf, Armstrong, Lancaster). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on all major digital music platforms, including Amazon. Listen to the composer’s first track (The World Keeps Turning) below. Payback is written by Debbie O’Malley and stars Morven Christie, Peter Mullan, Prasanna Puwanarajah and Derek Riddell. The 6-part crime thriller directed by Jennie Darnell & Andrew Cumming follows a woman who he becomes entangled in a perilous police operation to topple a notorious crime lord. Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the musical fantasy adventure Wonka directed by Paul King and starring Timothée Chalamet, Calah Lane, Hugh Grant, Keegan-Michael Key, Rowan Atkinson, Sally Hawkins, Jim Carter and Olivia Colman. The film’s original songs are written by Neil Hannon (of The Divine Comedy) and the movie’s original score is composed by Joby Talbot (Sing, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, Closed Circuit, Penelope). Opening in select theaters today before expanding to more markets next Friday, December 22, is the satire American Fiction written and directed by Cord Jefferson and starring Jeffrey Wright, Tracee Ellis Ross, Sterling K. Brown, Leslie Uggams, John Ortiz, Erika Alexander, Adam Brody, Keith David and Issa Rae. Laura Karpman (The Marvels, What If…?, Ms. Marvel, Lovecraft Country, Underground, Taken, Set It Up) has composed the film’s original music. Sony Masterworks has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today. Interscope Records has released the first song from the soundtrack for the film adaptation of the stage musical Mean Girls. Available to stream/download now on all major digital music platforms is Not My Fault performed by Reneé Rapp & Megan Thee Stallion who are also credited for co-producing/writing the track with Jeff Richmond, Nell Benjamin, Billy Walsh, Ryan Tedder, Alexander 23, Jasper Harris and Alexander Glantz. Madison Gate Records has released a new soundtrack album for the Netflix animated series Hilda. The album features selections of the original score from the show’s third and final season composed by Ryan Carlson (Abby Hatcher, Fuzzly Catcher). Also included is the song Uncrossed Path (as featured during the end credits of the series finale) performed by Frankie Cosmos, as as well as Bottom of the Sea performed by Raj Ghatak. The album features the show’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Volker Bertelmann (All Quiet on the Western Front, Lion, Hotel Mumbai, Adrift, Ammonite, The Old Guard, Patrick Melrose).
