Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the slasher movie I Know What You Did Last Summer directed by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson and starring Madelyn Cline, Chase Sui Wonders, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Jonah Hauer-King, Tyriq Withers, Billy Campbell, Austin Nichols, Sarah Pidgeon, Lola Tung, Nicholas Alexander Chavez, Gabbriette Bechtel and Freddie Prinze Jr. The album film’s original music is composed by Chanda Dancy (Blink Twice, Devotion, One of Them Days, Lawmen: Bass Reeves, I Wanna Dance with Somebody). Milan Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today. Check out our previous article for the full album details and to learn more about the Sony Pictures release.

Also opening nationwide is the western Eddington written and directed by Ari Aster and starring Joaquin Phoenix, Pedro Pascal, Emma Stone, Austin Butler, Luke Grimes, Clifton Collins Jr., Micheal Ward, Deirdre O’Connell, Amélie Hoeferle and William Belleau. Daniel Pemberton (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Enola Holmes, Steve Jobs, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Birds of Prey) & Bobby Krlic (Midsommar, Blue Beetle, Him, Beef, Beau Is Afraid, Returnal) have composed the film’s original music. A24 Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score today. Remastered ‘This Is Spinal Tap’ Soundtrack Album Announced

Polydor Records will release a new soundtrack album for the 1984 mockumentary/comedy This Is Spinal Tap co-written and directed by Rob Reiner and starring trio Christopher Guest, Michael McKean & Harry Shearer as the members of the fictional rock band Spinal Tap. The album features the band’s songs from the movie, newly remastered by Bernie Grundman from the soundtrack’s original stereo analog master tapes, and will be released on September 5. Visit Amazon to pre-order the CD version and click here to order the vinyl edition (pressed on standard black vinyl in gatefold jacket). A new (remixed, restored and remastered) 4K version of This Is Spinal Tap opened in U.S. theaters earlier this month (ahead of the release of the film’s sequel in September) and will be released in a new box set as part of the Criterion Collection on 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray on September 16. ‘A Cool Fish 2’ Soundtrack Album Released

Emperor Entertainment Group & Shenzhen Yiyiyi Culture Media Co. have released a soundtrack album for the Chinese action comedy A Cool Fish 2. The album features the film’s original music composed by Deng Ouge (Endgame) who previously scored the original 2018 movie. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon (and most other major digital music services), where you can also check out the track list (in Chinese). Also listen to a track from the composer’s score below. A Cool Fish 2 is directed by Rao Xiaozhi and stars Zhang Yu, Ren Suxi, Pan Binlong, Ma Yinyin and Guo Yiqian. The sequel follows little brother of a businessman who ventures to Southeast Asia to expand his business and prove his mettle, when his business is hit by a global recession and a terrorist attack. ‘Bullet Time’ Soundtrack EP Announced

Waxwork Records has announced a soundtrack release for the animated short Bullet Time. The 5-track EP features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award nominee Danny Elfman (Batman, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Men in Black, Alice in Wonderland). The soundtrack is being released as a deluxe 7″ vinyl EP and on cassette and is now available to order on the label’s official website, where you can also find out more about the release. A digital version will be released in the coming days and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Bullet Time is written and directed by Eddie Alcazar and stars Eric Bauza, Luis Bordanada, David Firth and Uly. Alan Bergman (1925-2025)

Alan Bergman passed away last night at age 99 at his home in Los Angeles. Together with his late wife Marilyn, the songwriter/lyricist wrote dozens of songs for film and television and won three Academy Awards for the songs The Windmills of Your Mind from Norman Jewison’s The Thomas Crown Affair, The Way We Were from Sydney Pollack’s movie of the same title, as well as the (song) score from 1983’s Yentl. His 16 Oscar nominations also include songs from Tootsie, Sydney Pollack’s Sabrina, Yes, Giorgio, Shirley Valentine, Best Friends, The Happy Ending, The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean, Same Time, Next Year and The Promise. The album features the show’s original music composed by Thomas Farnon (Our Planet, Mammals, Super Eagles ’96, Fight the Power). The album features the film’s original music composed by Pedro Onetto (The Sleepwalkers, The Silent Party,  Today We Fix the World, The Adopters). ‘TRON: Ares’ Soundtrack Album Announced

Interscope Records & The Null Corporation will release the official soundtrack album for the sci-fi sequel TRON: Ares. The album features the film’s original music composed by the Grammy Award-winning rock band Nine Inch Nails. The release marks the first-ever film score by the pioneering band, although bandmates Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross have previously scored numerous projects, including The Social Network, Soul, Challengers & Watchmen. The soundtrack will be released digitally on September 19 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A CD and vinyl edition is also being released on the same day and will be available to order here within the next few days. A first track (As Alive As You Need Me to Be) as featured in the movie’s new trailer (embedded below) is already available to stream/download now. TRON: Ares is directed by Joachim Rønning and stars Jared Leto, Greta Lee, Evan Peters, Hasan Minhaj, Jodie Turner-Smith, Gillian Anderson, Cameron Monaghan, Arturo Castro and Jeff Bridges. ‘Smurfs’ Score Album Details

Roc Nation Records will release a second soundtrack album for the animated feature Smurfs. The album features the film’s original score composed by Henry Jackman (Captain America: The Winter Soldier & Civil War, X-Men: First Class, Wreck-It-Ralph, Kong: Skull Island, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Big Hero 6, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, July 18 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services.
