queen-sugarPremiering on Tuesday, September 6 is the OWN original series Queen Sugar executive produced by Ava DuVernay & Oprah Winfrey and starring Rutina Wesley, Dawn-Lyen Gardner, Kofi Siriboe, Tina Lifford, Omar J. Dorsey, Dondré Whitfield, Timon Kyle Durrett, Nicholas L. Ashe, Greg Vaughan and Ethan Hutchison. Singer/songwriter Meshell Ndegeocello is composing the show’s original music. tschikWM Germany will release a soundtrack album for the German comedy Tschik. The album features the songs from the movie by artists including Beginner, Courtney Barnett, Royal Blood, Seeed, Tom Tom Club & more. Also included is the film’s original score composed by Vince Pope (Undercover, Misfits, Wallander, No Offence). The soundtrack will be released in Germany on September 9, 2016. Tschik is directed by Fatih Akin (Head-On, Soul Kitchen, The Edge of Heaven, The Cut). The movie is based on Wolfgang Herrndorf’s bestselling cult novel and follows two young teenage boys who steal a car and embark on a road trip that changes their lives. Read the rest of this entry »

‘Seven’ Score Album Details

se7enThe details of the score album for David Fincher’s 1995 thriller Seven have been revealed. The album features the film’s complete original score composed by Howard Shore (The Lord of the Rings, The Silence of the Lambs, The Hobbit, Hugo, The Aviator). The soundtrack will be released on September 16, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Collector’s Edition marks the first official release of the score. TVT Records has previously released two tracks from the composer’s music in addition to the songs from the movie when the film was released in 1995.  Read the rest of this entry »

Two new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:

morganOpening in most theaters is the sci-fi thriller Morgan directed by Luke Scott, produced by Ridley Scott and starring Kate Mara, Anya Taylor-Joy, Toby Jones, Rose Leslie, Boyd Holbrook, Michelle Yeoh, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Paul Giamatti. The film’s original music is composed by Max Richter (The Leftovers, Waltz with Bashir, Disconnect, Testament of Youth). No word on a soundtrack release. Morgan centers around corporate troubleshooter who is summoned to a remote research lab to determine whether or not to terminate a genetically-engineered being. The movie is being released by 20th Century Fox. light-between-oceansAlso opening wide is the drama The Light Between Oceans written and directed by Derek Cianfrance and starring Michael Fassbender, Alicia Vikander, Rachel Weisz, Bryan Brown and Jack Thompson. Alexandre Desplat (The Grand Budapest Hotel, The King’s Speech, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows) has composed the film’s original music. Soundtrack for Gabriele Muccino’s ‘Summertime’ Released

summertimeVerve Label Group has released a soundtrack album for Gabriele Muccino’s drama drama Summertime (L’Estate Addosso). The album features the film’s original music written by Italian singer/songwriter Jovanotti (aka Lorenzo Cherubini). Also included are two songs by Jaselli and Ashley Rodriguez. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. A CD version will be released later this month (click here to pre-order). Summertime is witten and directed by Muccino (The Pursuit of Happiness, Seven Pounds) and stars Brando Pacitto, Matilda Lutz, Taylor Frey and Joseph Haro. Also included is the original song Holdin’ Out by The Lumineers. ‘Snowden’ Score Album Announced

snowden-scoreDeutsche Grammophon will release a second soundtrack album for Oliver Stone’s biographical drama Snowden. The album features the film’s orchestral score composed by Craig Armstrong (Moulin Rouge!, The Great Gatsby, Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo & Juliet, World Trade Center, The Incredible Hulk). The soundtrack will be released digitally on September 16, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. As previously reported, the label will also release a separate soundtrack featuring the film’s music by Armstrong and Adam Peters. Snowden starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Shailene Woodley, Melissa Leo, Zachary Quinto, Tom Wilkinson, Rhys Ifans and Nicolas Cage chronicles Edward Snowden’s time in Russia hoping to get asylum while the United States was demanding his extradition.  Read the rest of this entry »

The album features the show’s original music composed by Jeff Russo (Fargo, Power, Time After Time, CSI: Cyber, American Gothic). bensi-jurriaans.jpgDanny Bensi and Saunder Jurriaans are reteaming with director Charlie McDowell on the upcoming sci-fi drama The Discovery. The film stars Rooney Mara, Robert Redford, Jason Segel, Jesse Plemons, Riley Keough and Ron Canada. The movie is set one year after the existence of the afterlife is scientifically verified and follows the scientist responsible for the discovery and a woman haunted by a tragic past who Will falls in love with his son. McDowell has also written the screenplay with Justin Lader. Endgame Entertainment’s James Stern (Looper, I’m Not There) is producing the project with Alex Orlovsky (Blue Valentine, The Place Beyond the Pines).  Read the rest of this entry »
