Four new movies are opening nationwide this week:
Opening in most theaters is the animated feature Moana directed by Ron Clements & John Musker and featuring the voices of Auli’i Cravelho and Dwayne Johnson. The film’s original score is composed by Mark Mancina (Twister, Speed, Tarzan, Brother Bear, Planes). The composer also co-wrote the movie’s original songs with Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hamilton) and Opetaia Foa’i. Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album featuring score & songs in two different editions. Click here for the full album details. Also opening wide is the romantic thriller Allied directed by Robert Zemeckis and starring Brad Pitt, Marion Cotillard, Jared Harris, Lizzy Caplan, Simon McBurney, Daniel Betts, Camille Cottin, August Diehl and Matthew Goode. Alan Silvestri (Back to the Future, Forrest Gump, The Avengers, Cast Away) has composed the film’s original music. Sony Classical has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as jazz classics by Benny Goodman, Louis Primas & more.
