return-of-xander-cageBrian Tyler is currently recording his score for the upcoming action sequel xXx: Return of Xander Cage. The film is directed by D.J. Caruso (DisturbiaI Am Number Four) and stars Vin Diesel in the title role, as well as Deepika Padukone, Ruby Rose, Nina Dobrev, Toni Collette, Donnie Yen, Kris Wu, Michael Bisping, Tony Jaa and Samuel L. Jackson. The movie follows the title character as he comes out of self-imposed exile to recover a sinister and seemingly unstoppable weapon known as Pandora’s Box. Chad St. John (London Has Fallen) and F. Scott Frazier (CollideThe Numbers Station) have written the screenplay. Joe Roth (Alice in Wonderland, Maleficent, Oz the Great and Powerful) is producing the project for Revolution Studios, alongside Jeff Kirschenbaum and Diesel. Tyler has previously collaborated with Caruso on the features Eagle EyeStanding Up and The Disappoinments Room. The 2002 original xXx film directed by Rob Cohen was scored by Randy Edelman and Marco Beltrami composed the music for the 2005 sequel xXx: State of the UnionxXx: Return of Xander Cage will be released on January 20, 2017 by Paramount Pictures.         Marco Beltrami, I honestly think though that Brian Tyler will pull off more of the thematic music from the first film, State of the Union was more of a Bond rip off.
