The full details of the soundtrack album for the Netflix original film Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F have been revealed. The album features the film’s original score composed by Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible – Fallout & Dead Reckoning, Black Widow, His Dark Materials, Bad Boys for Life & Ride or Die, The LEGO Batman Movie, Top Gun: Maverick). Harold Faltermeyer has written the original Beverly Hills Cop themes used in Balfe’s score. The soundtrack will be released digitally this Wednesday, July 3 by Netflix Music (visit Amazon or any other major digital music services to stream/download). World Premiere Release of Harold Faltermeyer’s ‘Top Gun’ Score Announced
La-La Land Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1986 action classic Top Gun directed by Tony Scott and starring Tom Cruise, Kelly McGillis, Val Kilmer, Anthony Edwards, Tom Skerritt. The 2-CD set features the world premiere release of the film’s original score composed by Harold Faltermeyer (Beverly Hills Cop, Fletch, The Running Man, Thief of Hearts, Cop Out, Tango & Cash) on the first disc, and the songs from the movie, including Kenny Loggins’ Danger Zone and Berlin’s Academy Award-winning Take My Breath Away, on the second disc. The soundtrack, which is limited to 5,000 copies, is now available to order on the label’s official website, where you can also check out audio samples. Columbia Records has previously released the original 1986 soundtrack album and an expanded version in 1999 featuring the songs and two tracks from Faltermeyer’s score.

Sony Classical has released an additional track from Hans Zimmer LIVE, the Academy Award-winning composer’s international concert tour and album of the same title. Available to stream/download now on all major digital music services is Top Gun: Maverick Main Titles (Live), a reimagined version of the main titles music from Joseph Kosinki’s 2022 hit movie featuring the classic theme (written for the 1986 original movie) by Harold Faltermeyer. ‘Thief of Hearts’ Score Album Announced
Quartet Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1984 drama Thief of Hearts written and directed by Douglas Day Stewart and staring Steven Bauer, Barbara Williams and John Getz. The 2-CD set features the world premiere release of the complete original score from the Don Simpson/Jerry Bruckheimer Films production composed by Harold Faltermeyer (Top Gun, Top Gun: Maverick, Beverly Hills Cop, Fletch, Tango & Cash, The Running Man), as well as unused cues and demos on the first disc and a remastered version of the original 1984 soundtrack album (released by MCA Records), as well as alternate versions of the songs on the second disc. The track list of the soundtrack album for the action drama Top Gun: Maverick has been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed by Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible – Fallout, Black Widow), Harold Faltermeyer (Top Gun, Beverly Hills Cop), Lady Gaga and Hans Zimmer (Dune, Gladiator, The Dark Knight, The Lion King). Also included is the original song I Ain’t Worried by OneRepublic, Kenny Loggins’ Danger Zone and Miles Teller’s rendition of Great Balls of Fire as featured in the movie. The soundtrack will be released digitally and physically on May 27 by Interscope Records and is now available for pre-order on Amazon (CD version) and here (digital version). Lady Gaga’s original song Hold My Hand has already been released earlier this week.

Varese Sarabande has announced a deluxe edition soundtrack album for the 1987 sci-fi action thriller The Running Man directed by Paul Michael Glaser and starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, María Conchita Alonso, Richard Dawson, Yaphet Kotto, and Jesse Ventura. The album features the expanded original score from the movie composed by Harold Faltermeyer (Beverly Hills Cop, Top Gun, Fletch, Cop Out), including additional music and unreleased and alternate cues. The soundtrack is limited to 2,000 copies and is now available to order on Varese’s official website, where you can also find out more details and listen to audio clips.
World Premiere Soundtrack Release for ‘Fletch Lives’ Announced
La-La La Land Records has announced the world premiere soundtrack release for the 1989 comedy Fletch Lives directed by Michael Ritchie and starring Chevy Chase, Hal Holbrook, Julianne Phillips,R. Lee Ermey, Richard Libertini and Cleavon Little. The album features the original score from the Universal Pictures production composed by Harold Faltermeyer (Beverly Hills Cop, Top Gun, Cop Out), as well as source cues and the end credits song Make A Change performed by by Buckwheat Zyedco. The soundtrack, which marks the fifth title in the Universal Pictures Film Music Heritage Collection, is limited to 3,000 copies and will be available to order later today on the label’s official website.
Hans Zimmer & Harold Faltermeyer to Score ‘Top Gun: Maverick’
Tom Cruise revealed in a video message at this yesterday’s Hollywood in Vienna concert that Hans Zimmer will be scoring the upcoming action drama Top Gun: Maverick. Hans-Zimmer.com has confirmed that the composer will be collaborating with Harold Faltermeyer who composed the music for Tony Scott’s 1986 original film. Cruise has previously mentioned that Faltermeyer’s music will be featured in the sequel. Top Gun: Maverick is directed by Joseph Kosinski (Oblivion, Tron Legacy) and stars Cruise, alongside Miles Teller, Val Kilmer, Jon Hamm, Ed Harris, Jennifer Connelly, Glen Powell, Lewis Pullman, Charles Parnell, Jay Ellis, Bashir Salahuddin, Danny Ramirez and Monica Barbaro.
Harold Faltermeyer to Return for ‘Top Gun: Maverick’
Tom Cruise revealed in a recent interview with Access Hollywood that music by composer Harold Faltermeyer will be featured in the upcoming sequel Top Gun: Maverick. Cruise will return to star in the movie. Joseph Kosinski (Tron: Legacy, Oblivion) is reportedly in talks to direct and Jerry Bruckheimer (Pirates of the Caribbean, The Rock, Armageddon, Remember the Titans) and Skydance’s David Ellison (Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, Terminator Genisys) will be producing the project. Faltermeyer previously scored the 1986 film and was honored with a Grammy Award for Best Pop Instrumental Performance for his Top Gun Anthem.
