The film marks the directorial debut of Jonathan Watson and stars Danny McBride, Rosemarie DeWitt, Luke Wilson, Lolli Sorenson, Elizabeth Gillies and Kaitlin Olson. The movie is set in the midst of the 2009 housing crisis and follows a single mom and struggling realtor whose life goes off the rails when she witnesses a murder. John Williams to Compose Theme for ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’

John Williams revealed in a recent interview with Variety that he will compose the theme for the title character for the upcoming Solo: A Star Wars Story. As reported this past summer, John Powell is composing the score for the movie directed by Ron Howard and starring Alden Ehrenreich, Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, Donald Glover, Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Joonas Suotamo. Lawrence Kasdan (Raiders of the Lost Ark, Return of the Jedi) and Jon Kasdan wrote the screenplay. The only movie opening nationwide this week is the dramatic thriller All the Money in the World directed by Ridley Scott and starring Michelle Williams, Christopher Plummer, Mark Wahlberg, Romain Duris, Charlie Plummer and Timothy Hutton. The film’s original music is composed by Daniel Pemberton (Steve Jobs, Molly’s Game, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, Gold). Sony Classical has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score last week. Check out our previous news article for the full album details. The movie opened in theaters on Christmas Day, December 25.
Daniel Pemberton has also composed the music for the drama Molly’s Game written and directed by Aaron Sorkin and starring Jessica Chastain, Idris Elba, Kevin Costner, Michael Cera, Jeremy Strong, Chris O’Dowd and Bill Camp. ‘McMafia’ Main Title Theme Released

Decca Records has released the main title theme for the new BBC & AMC limited series McMafia. The track is written by the show’s composers Tom Hodge and Franz Kirmann and is performed by the London Contemporary Orchestra. The theme has been released overseas as a digital single, which also features the composers’ track He’s Home, and is now available to download in the British iTunes store. McMafia is created by Hossein Amini (Drive) & James Watkins (The Woman in Black) and stars James Norton, Aleksey Serebryakov, Maria Shukshina, Faye Marsay and Juliet Rylance. The 8-part drama is inspired by Misha Glenny’s best-selling book of the same name and tells the story of Alex Godman, the English-raised son of Russian exiles with a mafia history, and his family.
