Three new movies are opening nationwide this week and have been playing in theaters since this past Wednesday:

Opening in most theaters is the animated feature Ralph Breaks the Internet directed by Rich Moore & Phil Johnston and starring John C. Reilly, Sarah Silverman, Taraji P. Henson, Jack McBrayer and Jane Lynch. The film’s original score is composed by Henry Jackman (Captain America: The Winter Soldier & Civil WarBig Hero 6). Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as original songs written by Alan Menken & Imagine Dragons. Also opening wide is the boxing drama Creed II directed by Steven Caple Jr. and starring Michael B. Jordan, Sylvester Stallone, Tessa Thompson, Wood Harris, Russell Hornsby, Andre Ward and Dolph Lundgren. Ludwig Göransson (Black Panther, CreedVenomFruitvale StationCommunity) has composed the film’s original score. Also opening nationwide action adventure Robin Hood directed by Otto Bathurst and starring Taron Egerton, Jamie Foxx, Ben Mendelsohn, Eve Hewson, Tim Minchin and Jamie Dornan. The film’s original music is composed by Joseph Trapanese (OblivionThe Greatest ShowmanOnly the BraveStraight Outta ComptonEarth to Echo). Opening in limited release is the comedy drama The Favourite directed by Yorgos Lanthimos and starring Olivia Colman, Emma Stone, Rachel Weisz, Nicholas Hoult, Joe Alwyn, James Smith, Mark Gatiss and Jenny Rainsford. The film doesn’t feature an original score. Sarah Giles serves as the project’s music supervisor. No word yet on a soundtrack release. Opening in select theaters before premiering on Netflix on December 14 is the drama Roma directed by Alfonso Cuaron and starring Yalitza Aparicio, Marina de Tavira, Marco Graf, Fernando Gregiaga, Daniela Demesa, Carlos Peralta, Nancy Garcia and Jorge Antonio Guerrero. The movie doesn’t feature an original score and no soundtrack album has been released. The drama, which chronicles a tumultuous year in the life of a middle-class family in Mexico City in the early 1970s, premiered at this years’s Venice Film Festival and is being released in theaters three weeks before its Netflix premiere.
