Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:

Expected to top the weekend box office is the action sequel Kingsman: The Golden Circle directed by Matthew Vaughn and starring Colin Firth, Julianne Moore, Taron Egerton, Mark Strong, Halle Berry, Sir Elton John, Channing Tatum and Jeff Bridges. The film’s original music is composed by Henry Jackman (Captain America: The Winter Soldier & Civil WarX-Men: First Class, Kong: Skull Island) & Matthew Margeson (Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar ChildrenEddie the Eagle). La-La Land Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score. Click here for the full album details.

Also opening wide is the animated feature The LEGO Ninjago Movie directed by Charlie Bean and features the voices of Dave Franco, Justin Theroux, Fred Armisen, Abbi Jacobson, Olivia Munn, Kumail Nanjiani, Michael Peña, Zach Woods and Jackie Chan. Mark Mothersbaugh (The LEGO Movie, Cloudy with a Chance of MeatballsThe Royal Tenenbaums, Thor: Ragnarok) has composed the film’s original music. WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as songs by Blaze n Vill, Jingle Punks, Oh, Hush!, The De Luca Brothers & more. Capitol Nashville has released the original song Hold the Light from Joseph Kosinski’s action drama Only the Brave. The track is performed by Dierks Bentley feat. S. Carey and is co-written by the singer/songwriters, Jon Randall and the film’s composer Joseph Trapanese (OblivionAllegiantQuantico). The song is now available as a digital single on Amazon. Cristobal Tapia de Veer has composed the music for the upcoming Black Mirror episode Black Museum. The episode is directed by Colm McCarthy (Outcast, Peaky Blinders) and stars Douglas Hodge, Letitia Wright and Babs Olusanmokun. The show’s creator Charlie Brooker wrote the script. The composer has previously collaborated with McCarthy on last year’s feature The Girl with All the Gifts. Silent Partner & Novus Entertainment will release a soundtrack album for the thriller ‘Til Death Do Us Part. The album features the songs from the movie by artists including Marques Houston, J Boog, Mila J, I Rich, Chrissy, Jacob and Smooth. The soundtrack will be released digitally on September 29, 2017 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. ‘Til Death Do Us Part is directed by Christober B. Stokes and stars Taye Diggs, Stephen Bishop, Annie Ilonzeh, Robinne Lee and Malik Yoba. The movie tells the story of young woman’s struggle to escape a violent marriage to feel safe, whole, and find the ability to love again. The thriller will be released in theaters on September 29. EDM producer and DJ Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs (aka Orlando Tobias Edward Higginbottom) has composed the original music for the first episode of the new Netflix original series Neo Yokio. Jesse Novak (BoJack Horseman, The Mindy Project) has scored the second and sixth episode of the series and EDM artist BATHS (aka Will Wiesenfeld) composed the music for the third episode and also contributed a piece for the sixth episode. A score album has been released for the sports drama Borg McEnroe. The album features the film’s original music composed by Jonas Struck (Prague, Superclasio) & Vladislav Delay. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Borg McEnroe is directed by Janus Metz and stars Shia LaBeouf, Stellan Skarsgård and Sverrir Gudnason. The movie tells the story of the epic rivalry between Swedish tennis legend Björn Borg and his greatest adversary, the brash American John McEnroe, which came to a head during the 1980 Wimbledon Championships. Manners McDade has released a soundtrack album for the ITV original series Liar. The album features selections from the show’s original music composed by Afterhere (aka Glenn Gregory & Berenice Scott). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Liar is created, written and executive produced by Harry & Jack Williams and stars Joanne Froggatt and Ioan Gruffudd. The psychogical thriller revolves around a teacher and surgeon, respectively, whose seemingly innocent date turns into a series of volatile accusations that capsize their lives. Third Man Records will release a soundtrack album for Jim Jarmusch’s Paterson. The album features the film’s original score composed by Jarmusch and Carter Logan as SQÜRL. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, September 22, and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. Paterson is written and directed by Jarmusch and stars Adam Driver, Golshifteh Farahani, Barry Shabaka Henley, Cliff Smith, Chasten Harmon, William Jackson Harper and Masatoshi Nagasi. The movie revolves around a bus driver in the city of Paterson, New Jersey. Mateo Messina has signed on to score the upcoming comedy The Pact. The film marks the directorial debut of writer/producer Kay Cannon (Pitch Perfect, New Girl, Girlboss) and stars Leslie Mann, Ike Barinholtz and John Cena. The movie follows three parents who, upon discovering that their daughters have made a pact to lose their virginities on prom night, go out and try and stop them before it’s too late. Eben Russell, Jon Hurwitz & Hayden Schlossberg (Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle), and Brian & Jim Kehoe wrote the screenplay. Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg & James Weaver (This Is the End, Neighbors) are producing the project with Hurwitz & Schlossberg and Chris Fenton (Chappaquiddick). Read the rest of this entry »
