Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Expected to top the weekend box office is the action sequel Kingsman: The Golden Circle directed by Matthew Vaughn and starring Colin Firth, Julianne Moore, Taron Egerton, Mark Strong, Halle Berry, Sir Elton John, Channing Tatum and Jeff Bridges. The film’s original music is composed by Henry Jackman (Captain America: The Winter Soldier & Civil War, X-Men: First Class, Kong: Skull Island) & Matthew Margeson (Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, Eddie the Eagle). Also opening wide is the animated feature The LEGO Ninjago Movie directed by Charlie Bean and features the voices of Dave Franco, Justin Theroux, Fred Armisen, Abbi Jacobson, Olivia Munn, Kumail Nanjiani, Michael Peña, Zach Woods and Jackie Chan. Mark Mothersbaugh (The LEGO Movie, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, The Royal Tenenbaums, Thor: Ragnarok) has composed the film’s original music. Capitol Nashville has released the original song Hold the Light from Joseph Kosinski’s action drama Only the Brave. The track is performed by Dierks Bentley feat. S. Carey and is co-written by the singer/songwriters, Jon Randall and the film’s composer Joseph Trapanese (Oblivion, Allegiant, Quantico). The song is now available as a digital single on
Cristobal Tapia de Veer has composed the music for the upcoming Black Mirror episode Black Museum. The episode is directed by Colm McCarthy (Outcast, Peaky Blinders) and stars Douglas Hodge, Letitia Wright and Babs Olusanmokun. The show’s creator Charlie Brooker wrote the script. The composer has previously collaborated with McCarthy on last year’s feature The Girl with All the Gifts. He joins
Silent Partner & Novus Entertainment will release a soundtrack album for the thriller ‘Til Death Do Us Part. The album features the songs from the movie by artists including Marques Houston, J Boog, Mila J, I Rich, Chrissy, Jacob and Smooth. EDM producer and DJ Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs (aka Orlando Tobias Edward Higginbottom) has composed the original music for the first episode of the new Netflix original series Neo Yokio. Jesse Novak (BoJack Horseman, The Mindy Project) has scored the second and sixth episode of the series and EDM artist BATHS (aka Will Wiesenfeld) composed the music for the third episode and also contributed a piece for the sixth episode. The anime series’ fourth episode features original music by singer/songwriter Dev Hynes (also known as Blood Orange).

Mateo Messina has signed on to score the upcoming comedy The Pact. The film marks the directorial debut of writer/producer Kay Cannon (Pitch Perfect, New Girl, Girlboss) and stars Leslie Mann, Ike Barinholtz and John Cena. The movie follows three parents who, upon discovering that their daughters have made a pact to lose their virginities on prom night, go out and try and stop them before it’s too late. Eben Russell, Jon Hurwitz & Hayden Schlossberg (Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle), and Brian & Jim Kehoe wrote the screenplay. Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg & James Weaver (This Is the End, Neighbors) are producing the project with Hurwitz & Schlossberg and Chris Fenton (Chappaquiddick).
