Premiering on Wednesday, January 3, is the new Freeform original series Grown-ish created by Kenya Barris & Larry Wilmore and starring Yara Shahidi, Deon Cole, Chris Parnell, Emily Arlook, Trevor Jackson, Francia Raisa and Jordan Buhat. The show’s original music is composed by Vincent Jones (Up All Night, Parks & Recreation theme song, F Is for Family). Premiering on Friday, January 5, in the U.S. is the horror thriller Before I Wake co-written and directed by Mike Flanagan and starring Kate Bosworth, Thomas Jane, Annabeth Gish, Dash Mihok and Jacob Tremblay. The Newton Brothers (Oculus, Ouija: Origin of Evil, Life of Crime, Gerald’s Game) have composed the film’s original score and Danny Elfman (Spider-Man, Batman, Alice in Wonderland) has provided the themes and additional music. Joseph Stephens is composing the score for the upcoming comedy Arizona. The film marks the directorial debut of Jonathan Watson and stars Danny McBride, Rosemarie DeWitt, Luke Wilson, Lolli Sorenson, Elizabeth Gillies and Kaitlin Olson. The movie is set in the midst of the 2009 housing crisis and follows a single mom and struggling realtor whose life goes off the rails when she witnesses a murder. Luke Del Tredici (Brooklyn Nine-Nine) wrote the screenplay.

Marco Beltrami is composing the music for the upcoming National Geographic documentary Free Solo. The film is directed by Jimmy Chin & Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi (Meru) and revolves around rock climber Alex Honnold as he is training on Freerider for the first ever rope-free climb of El Capitan in Yosemite National Park. Chin & Chai Vasarhelyi are also producing the project with Evan Hayes, Walter Parkes & Laurie MacDonald (Men in Black, The Ring, Flight) and Shannon Dill.
