Milan Records has released the first track from the soundtrack for the second season of the HBO original series The Last of Us. Available to stream/download now on most major digital music services is a new version of The Path (originally written for the 2013 video game) written by Gustavo Santaolalla (Brokeback Mountain, Babel, The Book of Life, The Motorcycle Diaries) and performed by Tom Morello (of Rage Against the Machine). Alberts & Gothmaan has released released the main title theme song from the Prime Video original series Étoile. Available to stream/download now on all major digital music services is Nights Are for Love written and performed by West London’s experimental duo Sons of Raphael (Loral & Ronnel Raphael). Milan Records has released a soundtrack album for the French/Belgian limited series George Untamed Spirit (La rebelle: Les aventures de la jeune George Sand). The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Philippe Jakko (Enemy Lines, 5lbs of Pressure, Meet the Barbarians, Allies, Notre Dame, Kaufman’s Game). George Untamed Spirit is created by Georges-Marc Benamou & Henri Helmane and stars Nine d’Urso, Vincent Londez, Barbara Pravi, Jonathan Turnbull, Oscar Lesage and David Kammenos. The 4-drama directed by Rodolphe Tissot tells the story of Aurore Dupin who fled Nohant for Paris to escape her violent husband in the early 19th Century and – by wearing men’s clothing and smoking a pipe in cabarets – went on to become the first female writer ever to make a living from her books. Caldera Records has announced the world premiere soundtrack release for the 1980 British murder mystery The Mirror Crack’d based on the Agatha Christie novel, directed by Guy Hamilton and starring Angela Lansbury (as Miss Marple), Geraldine Chaplin, Tony Curtis, Rock Hudson, Edward Fox, Kim Novak and Elizabeth Taylor. The show is created by Tina Fey, Lang Fisher (Never Have I Ever) & Tracey Wigfield (Saved by the Bell, Four Weddings and a Funeral) based on Alan Alda’s 1981 feature of the same title and stars Fey herself, Steve Carell, Will Forte, Colman Domingo, Marco Calvani, Kerri Kenney-Silver and Erika Henningsen. The film’s original music is composed by The National’s Bryce Dessner (Sing Sing, We Live in Time, The Two Popes, Bardo, Cyrano, She Came to Me,Manhunt, A Good Person). WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as cover version of Nina Simone’s See-Line Woman performed by Danielle Ponder & Dessner last Friday.
