Variety is reporting that Ryuichi Sakamoto (The Revenant, The Last Emperor, The Sheltering Sky, Snake Eyes) will be composing the theme for the upcoming drama Paradise Next. The film is directed by Japanese composer Yoshihiro Hanno (Mountains May Depart, Dragonfly Eyes) who previously helmed the 2015 feature A Woman Wavering in the Rain) and is set to star Satoshi Tsumbuki and Etsushi Toyokawa. A soundtrack EP has been released for Asghar Farhadi’s drama Everybody Knows (Todos lo saben). The EP features the songs from the film by Grammy Award-winning music producer and singer/songwriter Javier Limón. Everybody Knows is written and directed by Farhadi (The Salesman, A Separation, The Past) and stars Penélope Cruz, Javier Bardem and Ricardo Darín. Christopher Lennertz is reteaming with director Tim Story on the upcoming Shaft sequel. The film stars Samuel L. Jackson & Jessie T. Last night, Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI) held its annual Film, TV & Visual Awards at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills. John Williams was honored with the John Williams Award for his incomparable status as one of the greatest film and television composers of our time. The composer who was previously honored with BMI’s Kirk Award in 1999 and who also received two more BMI Awards this year for his scores for Star Wars: The Last Jedi and The Post was presented the award by the evening’s host, BMI Vice President, Film/TV Relations, Doreen Ringer-Ross and BMI President & CEO Mike O’Neill. ’13 Reasons Why’ Season 2 Soundtrack Announced

Interscope Records will release a new soundtrack album for the Netflix original series 13 Reasons Why. The album features a selection of songs from the show’s second season by artists including a new song by Selena Gomez, which is already available to download, as well as tracks by OneRepublic, YUNGBLUD, Billie Eilish & Khalid, New Order, HAERTS, Lord Huron & more. The soundtrack will be released digitally on May 18 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon.
