Walt Disney Records has released the original song Spirit from Jon Favreau’s The Lion King. The track is performed by Beyoncé and co-written by herself, Timothy McKenzie & Ilya Salmanzadeh. The song is now available to download as a digital single on Amazon. Also listen to the full track after the jump. Spirit is also featured as the previously listed “TBA” track 14 on the movie’s official soundtrack album, which also features the songs by Elton John & Tim Rice and the score by Hans Zimmer and which will be released digitally this Thursday, July 11. Rolfe Kent (Sideways, Wedding Crashers, Election, Legally Blonde, Up in the Air) has recently composed the music for the upcoming Disney+ original movie Timmy Failure. The film is directed by Tom McCarthy (Spotlight, The Visitor, The Station Agent) and stars Winslow Fegley, Ophelia Lovibond and Craig Robinson. The family comedy is based on Stephan Pastis’ novel of the same title and follows an 11-year boy who believes he is the CEO of his fictional detective agency, Total Failure, Inc. and whose goal is to become so rich his mother won’t have to stress out about the bills anymore. The show is developed by Mark O’Rowe (Boy A, Broken) based on the Norwegian series Valkyrien and stars Mark Strong, Carice van Houten and Daniel Mays. The 8-part comic thriller is set in the secret world beneath London, where an illegal clinic has been set up in an abandoned subterranean network of tunnels and follows a surgeon driven by personal tragedy to treat anyone who is willing to pay for medical help outside the system. Composer Heather McIntosh is reuniting with director Craig Zobel on the upcoming political thriller The Hunt. The film’s cast includes Emma Roberts, Justin Hartley, Glenn Howerton, Ike Barinholtz, Betty Gilpin and Amy Madigan. No plot details have been announced yet for the movie, which will explore escalating aggressiveness between the political right and left in America. Damon Lindelof (Lost, Prometheus, The Leftovers) and Nick Cuse wrote the screenplay. Lindelof is also producing the project with Jason Blum (Get Out, Paranormal Activity, Insidious) for Blumhouse. A soundtrack album has been released for the animated feature Away. The album features the film’s original music composed by Latvian animator Gints Zilbalodis who also wrote, directed and produced the movie. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Away marks Zilbalodis’ feature debut and tells the story of a boy and a little bird on a journey across a strange island as they are trying to get back home. ‘Blinded by the Light’ Soundtrack Details

Sony Music will release the official soundtrack album for the drama Blinded by the Light. The album features the songs from the movie by Bruce Springsteen. Also included are two tracks from the film’s original score composed by Academy Award winner A.R. Rahman (Slumdog Millionaire, 127 Hours), as well as songs by Pet Shop Boys, a-ha & more. The soundtrack will be released digitally and physically on August 9, 2019 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Blinded by the Light is directed by Gurinder Chadha and stars Viveik Kalra, Hayley Atwell, Rob Brydon, Kulvinder Ghir, Nell Williams, Dean-Charles Chapman and Aaron Phagura. The movie is set to the music and lyrics of Springsteen’s timeless songs and tells the story of a British teen of Pakistani descent, growing up in the town of Luton, England, in 1987 who writes poetry as a means to escape the intolerance of his hometown and the inflexibility of his traditional father.
