Premiering tonight is the National Geographic documentary Apollo: Missions to the Moon directed by Tom Jennings about the United States’ remarkable journey to land on the Moon before 1970. The film’s original music is composed James Everingham for Bleeding Fingers Music and produced by Hans Zimmer & Russell Emanuel. Milan Records has released a soundtrack album featuring Everingham’s score. Check out our previous news article for the full album details.

Also premiering tonight is the CNN docu-series The Movies executive produced by Tom Hanks, Gary Goetzman & Mark Herzog and featuring interviews with Steven Spielberg, Julia Roberts, Ron Howard, Morgan Freeman, Robert De Niro, among others. Blake Neely (Arrow, The Flash, Riverdale, Into the West, Life As We Know It) & Nathaniel Blume (The Seventies, The Eighties, Deception) have composed the show’s original music. ‘The Other Side of Heaven 2: Fire of Faith’ Soundtrack Released

Bad Haircut Records has released a soundtrack album for the faith-based drama The Other Side of Heaven 2: Fire of Faith. The album features the film’s original music composed by Christian Davis (Christmas Eve, Atomica, We Love You, Sally Carmichael!, The Stray). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio clips. The Other Side of Heaven 2: Fire of Faith is written and directed by Mitch Davis and stars Christopher Gorham, Natalie Medlock, Alex Tarrant, Ben Baker, Nicole Whippy, Miriama Smith and Joe Folau. Composer Tyler Bates (Guardians of the Galaxy, Deadpool 2, John Wick, 300, The Punisher, Watchmen) is reteaming with Genndy Tartakovsky on the upcoming Adult Swim animated series Primal. he is co-scoring the project with Joanne Higginbottom. The show revolves around a caveman at the dawn of evolution and a dinosaur on the brink of extinction who become the only hope of survival in a violent, primordial world. Tartakovsky has created the series and is also executive producing the Cartoon Network Studios and Studio La Cachette production. Read the rest of this entry »

Two new movies are opening in theaters nationwide this week:

Already playing in theaters since this past Tuesday is Marvel Studios’ Spider-Man: Far from Home directed by Jon Watts and starring Tom Holland, Samuel L. Jackson, Zendaya, Cobie Smulders, Jacob Batalon, Marisa Tomei and Jake Gyllenhaal. The film’s original music composed by Michael Giacchino (Up, Star Trek, Jurassic World,  Lost, The Incredibles, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story). Sony Classical has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. Click here for the full album details.

Playing in theaters since this past Wednesday is the horror movie Midsommar written and directed by Ari Aster and starring Florence Pugh, Jack Reynor, William Jackson Harper, Vilhelm Blomgran, Archie Madekwe, Ellora Torchia and Will Poulter. Bobby Krlic (aka The Haxan Cloak) (Triple 9, Seven Seconds, Shooter) has composed the film’s original music. ‘Apollo: Missions to the Moon’ Soundtrack Details

Milan Records has released a soundtrack album for the National Geographic documentary Apollo: Missions to the Moon. The album features the film’s original music composed by James Everingham for Bleeding Fingers Music and produced by Hans Zimmer & Russell Emanuel. Apollo: Missions to the Moon is directed by Tom Jennings (Challenger Disaster: Lost Tapes, Diana: In Her Own Words) and recounts the United States’ remarkable journey to land on the Moon before 1970. The movie covers the Apollo Space Program with raw media, eschewing narration for footage and audio of the program, including samples of never-before-audio pulled from over 800 hours of recordings and Apollo black box recordings. ‘I Love You, Now Die’ Soundtrack Album Announced

Little Twig Records has announced a soundtrack album for the HBO documentary I Love You, Now Die: The Commonwealth v. Michelle Carter. The album features the film’s original music composed by Ian Hultquist (Assassination Nation, A-X-L, Animals, My Blind Brother, The Gospel According to André). The soundtrack will be released digitally on July 12, 2019 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon and iTunes. I Love You, Now Die is directed by Erin Lee Carr who previously collaborated with Hultquist on numerous projects, including Thought Crimes: the Case of the Cannibal Cop, Mommy Dead & Dearest, and this year’s At the Heart of Gold: Inside the USA Gymnastics Scandal (co-scored by Drum & Lace). The album features the film’s original music composed by Rob (Maniac, Horns, Troy: Fall of a City, Revenge, Plantarium). Soundtrack Album for Luc Besson’s ‘Anna’ to Be Released

EuropaCorp will release the official soundtrack album for Luc Besson’s action thriller Anna. The album features the film’s original music composed by Eric Serra (Leon: The Professional, The Fifth Element, GoldenEye, La Femme Nikita, Lucy, The Big Blue). Also included is Beauty Freak’s song My Beauty. The soundtrack will be released overseas digitally next Wednesday, July 10 and physically a few days later. A domestic release is set for July 19 (click here to download the album). Anna is written and directed by Besson and stars Sasha Luss, Luke Evans, Cillian Murphy and Helen Mirren. ‘Star Trek: Discovery’ Season 2 Soundtrack Album Details

Lakeshore Records will release a new soundtrack album for the CBS All Access original series Star Trek: Discovery. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s second season composed by Emmy Award winner Jeff Russo (Fargo, Legion, The Night Of, The Act, Mile 22, Counterpart). Also included are three tracks from Russo’s score for Short Treks. The soundtrack will be released digitally on July 19 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. ‘Fighting with My Family’ Score Album to Be Released

Lakeshore Records will release a score album for the comedy drama Fighting with My Family. The album features the film’s original music composed by Vik Sharma (Hello Ladies) who collaborated with Blur guitarist Graham Coxon on his score. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, July 5 and will be available to download here. Universal-Island Records has previously released a separate soundtrack featuring the songs from the movie, as well as selections of Sharma’s score. Fighting with My Family is written and directed by Stephen Merchant and stars Florence Pugh, Lena Headey, Nick Frost, Jack Lowden, Vince Vaughn and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.  Read the rest of this entry »
