Mychael Danna & Jeff Danna have been hired to score Pixar Animation Studios’ upcoming feature Onward. The film is directed by Dan Scanlan (Monsters University) and stars Chris Pratt, Tom Holland, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Octavia Spencer. The movie revolves around two teenage elf brothers who embark on an extraordinary quest to discover if there is still a little magic left out there. Madison Gate Records has released a soundtrack album for the romantic comedy The New Romantic. The album features the film’s original music composed by Matthew O’Halloran. The film is directed by Conrad Vernon (Shrek 2, Monsters vs. Aliens) & Greg Tiernan (Sausage Party) and features the voices of Oscar Isaac, Charlize Theron, Chloe Grace Moretz, Finn Wolfhard, Nick Kroll, Elsie Fisher, Bette Midler and Allison Janney. Decca Records will release the official soundtrack album for the documentary Pavarotti. The album features the most popular, signature arias & songs performed by opera singer Luciano Pavarotti, alongside iconic live moments from some of the biggest concerts he was involved in. The soundtrack is set to be released on June 7, 2019 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon (digital version) and here (CD version). Pavarotti is directed by Ron Howard and written by Mark Monroe (The Beatles: Eight Days a Week – The Touring Years). Bear McCreary (10 Cloverfield Lane, The Walking Dead, Battlestar Galactica, Happy Death Day) has recently recorded his score for the pilot episode of the upcoming TNT original series Snowpiercer. The show, which was originally written by Josh Friedman (War of the Worlds, The Black Dahlia) and later developed by Graeme Manson (Orphan Black), is based on Bong Joon-ho’s 2013 feature of the same title (scored Marco Beltrami) and stars Daveed Diggs, Jennifer Connelly, Mickey Sumner, Annalise Basso, Sasha Frolova, Alison Wright, Benjamin Haigh and Roberto Urbina. Back to Life is created by Laura Solon and Daisy Haggard who also stars in the show, alongside Geraldine James, Richard Durden, Adeel Akhtar, Jamie Michie, Souad Faress and Jo Martin. The comedy centers on a woman who returns home after eighteen years and stumbles back into adult life in the coastal town she once knew, while the shadow of her past looms large. Premiering tonight in the U.S. is the mini-series Les Miserables developed by Andrew Davies based on Victor Hugo’s novel and starring Dominic West, David Oyelowo, Lily Collins, Adeel Akhtar, Olivia Colman, Ellie Bamber, Josh O’Connor and Erin Kellyman. The show’s original music is composed by John Murphy (28 Days Later, Sunshine, Miami Vice, Snatch). Premiering tomorrow, April 15 is the Netflix original series No Good Nick created by David H. Steinberg & Keetgi Kogan and starring Melissa Joan Hart, Sean Astin, Siena Agudong, Kalama Epstein and Lauren Lindsey. Chris Alan Lee (Younger, Heathers, Uncle Buck) has composed the original music for the show’s first season.
