Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:

resident-evil-the-final-chapterOpening in most theaters is the sci-fi action sequel Resident Evil: The Final Chapter written and directed by Paul W.S. Anderson and starring Milla Jovovich, Ali Larter, Iain Glen, Shawn Roberts, Ruby Rose, Eoin Macken, William Levy, Fraser James and Rola. The film’s original music is composed by Paul Haslinger (UnderworldHalt and Catch Fire, The Three MusketeersFear the Walking Dead). dogs-purposeAlso opening wide is the family drama A Dog’s Purpose directed by Lasse Hallström and starring Dennis Quaid, Peggy Lipton, Britt Robertson, K.J. ‘Stray Bullets’ Soundtrack

stray-bulletsLakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the crime drama Stray Bullets. The album features the film’s original music composed by the movie’s director, Jack Fessenden. The soundtrack will be released digitally on February 10, 2017 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio clips. Stray Bullets is written and directed by Fessenden and stars Asa Spurlock, James Le Gros, John Speredakos, Kevin Corrigan, Robert Burke Warren and Larry Fessenden. The movie follows two teenage boys who are tasked with cleaning out their father’s old mobile home on an abandoned property, only to find that three cons on the run are using the trailer for a hideout. belko-experimentLakeshore Records has released the song California Dreamin’ from the upcoming horror thriller The Belko Experiment. The track is a Spanish language cover of the 1960s classic hit by Mamas and the Papas and is performed by Gabriela Terán. The song is now available as a digital single and can be downloaded on Amazon. The label will release a full soundtrack album featuring the song, as well as the movie’s score by Tyler Bates on March 17, 2017. ‘Jawbone’ Soundtrack Announced

jawboneParlaphone Records will release a soundtrack album for the boxing drama Jawbone. The album features the film’s original music composed by British singer/songwriter Paul Weller who is best known as the former frontman of the bands The Jam and The Style Council. The soundtrack will be released on March 3, 2017 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. One track from the soundtrack is already available to download now. Jawbone is directed by Thomas Napper and stars Johnny Harris, Ray Winstone, Michael Smiley and Ian McShane. ‘The Shack’ Soundtrack Details

The album features songs from and inspired by the film by artists including Tim McGraw & Faith Hill (who contributed the original track Keep Your Eyes on Me),  Kelly Clarkson & Aloe Blacc, Lady Antebellum, Lecrae, Hillsong United, Dierks Bentley, for KING & COUNTRY, We Are Messengers, NEEDTOBREATHE and Brett Eldredge. The soundtrack will be released on February 24, 2017 by Atlantic Records. The Shack is directed by Stuart Hazeldine and stars Sam Worthington, Octavia Spencer, Radha Mitchell, Graham Greene and Aviv Alush. The movie based on the New York Times best-selling novel follows a grieving man whose youngest daughter was abducted during a family vacation and receives a mysterious, personal invitation to meet with God at a place called “The Shack.” Read the rest of this entry »

beauty-beastWalt Disney Records announced today that Josh Groban has recorded the original Evermore for Disney’s upcoming live action adaptation of Beauty and the Beast. The song, which is performed in the movie by the Beast (Dan Stevens) after he releases Belle (Emma Watson) to be with her father, is written by Academy Award winners Alan Menken (The Little Mermaid, AladdinEnchanted) and lyricist Tim Rice (The Lion King, Evita). The version performed by Groban appears in the movie’s end credits. As previously reported, Celine Dion has also recorded an original song written by the songwriters. All songs from the movie, as well as Menken’s original score will be included on the soundtrack album, which will be released on March 10, 2017 and is now available for pre-order here (regular edition) and here (deluxe edition).  Read the rest of this entry »

The album features the film’s original music composed by Daniel Pemberton (Steve JobsThe Man from U.N.C.L.E.King ArthurThe Counselor). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, January 27. The download link will be added to this article within the next day. As reported earlier this week, Varese Sarabande will release a separate soundtrack featuring the songs from the movie, including the original track Gold co-written by Pemberton and performed by Iggy Pop. Gold is directed by Stephen Gaghan and stars Matthew McConaughey, Bryce Dallas Howard, Edgar Ramirez, Bruce Greenwood, Corey Stoll, Toby Kebbell and Stacy Keach. my-cousin-rachelThis week, Rael Jones has recorded his score for the upcoming romantic drama My Cousin Rachel. The film is directed by Roger Michell (Notting Hill, Changing Lanes, Morning Glory) and stars Rachel Weisz, Sam Claflin, Holliday Grainger and Iain Glen. The movie is based on the 1951 novel by Daphne Du Maurier and tells the story of a young Englishman who plots revenge against his mysterious, beautiful cousin, believing that she murdered his guardian. The album features the songs from the movie by the film’s subject matter, the Japanese punk-rock band X Japan. The soundtrack will be released on March 3, 2017 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. We Are X is directed by Stephen Kijak and follows X Japan, as its star drummer Yoshiki prepares for a reunion concert at Madison Square Garden.
