Cooper accepted the award on behalf of the full music team. They were nominated in the BAFTA music category alongside Terence Blanchard (BlacKkKlansman), Nicholas Britell (If Beale Street Could Talk), Alexandre Desplat (Isle of Dogs) and Marc Shaiman (Mary Poppins Returns). Premiering on Tuesday, February 12 is the TBS original series Miracle Workers created by Simon Rich based on his book What in God’s Name and starring Daniel Radcliffe, Steve Buscemi, Geraldine Viswanathan and Karan Soni. No composer is credited on the show. Rob Hill serves as the project’s music supervisor. Also premiering on Tuesday is the BET original series Boomerang created by Lena Waithe & Ben Cory Jones based on the 1992 feature of the same title, executive produced by Halle Berry and starring Tequan Richmond, Tetona Jackson, Leland Martin and Lala Milan. Pigalle Production has released a soundtrack album for the drama Holy Lands. The album features the film’s original music composed by Gregoire Hetzel (IncendiesIsmael’s GhostsMy Golden DaysSummertime). Also included is Jimmy Cliff’s song Many Rivers to Cross. The soundtrack is now available digitally in France (visit the French Amazon store to check out audio samples). No word yet on a domestic release. Holy Lands is written and directed by Amanda Sthers and stars James Caan, Tom Hollander, Rosanna Arquette, Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Efrat Dor. Opening in most theaters is the animated sequel The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part directed by Mike Mitchell and starring Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Banks, Will Arnett and Tiffany Haddish. The film’s original score is composed by Mark Mothersbaugh (Thor: Ragnarok21/22 Jump Street, The Royal Tenenbaums). Clark (aka Chris Clark) (The Last Panthers, National Treasure: Kiri, Rellik) is composing the original music for the upcoming thriller Daniel Isn’t Real. The film is directed by Adam Egypt Mortimer (Some Kind of Hate) and stars Patrick Schwarzenegger, Miles Robbins, Sasha Lane, Hannah Marks and Mary Stuart Masterson. The movie centers on a troubled college freshman who suffers a violent family trauma and resurrects his childhood imaginary friend to help him cope. Back Lot Music will release the official soundtrack album for the slasher sequel Happy Death Day 2U. The album features the film’s original music composed by Bear McCreary (10 Cloverfield Lane, The Walking Dead, Outlander, Battlestar Galactica, Colossal, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) who previously scored 2017’s original Happy Death Day movie. The soundtrack will be released next Friday, February 15 and is will be available to download on Amazon. RCA Records and MBK Entertainment have released H.E.R.‘s new cover version of Aretha Franklin’s Think from the comedy What Men Want. The track, originally written by Franklin & Ted White, is produced by Ryan Tedder and Zach Skelton. The song is now available to download on Amazon. Also listen to the full track after the jump. True Velvet Records has released a soundtrack album for the French drama Girls of the Sun (Les filles du soleil). The album features the film’s original music composed by singer/songwriter Morgan Kibby (Bang Gang (A Modern Love Story)). Girls of the Sun is written and directed by Eva Husson and stars Golshifteh Farahani and Emmanuelle Bercot. The movie focuses on the sisterhood of women taken prisoner by Kurdistan extremists.
