Variety is reporting that Academy Award-nominated composer Nicholas Britell (Moonlight, If Beale Street Could Talk, The Big Short, Vice) & Grammy Award-nominated singer/songwriter Julieta Venegas are composing new songs for the upcoming musical drama Carmen. The film is directed by Benjamin Millepied and is set to star Jamie Dornan and Melissa Barrera. As previously reported, Britell is also composing the score for the movie, which is inspired by French composer Georges Bizet’s opera of the same title.
