‘Ernest Cole: Lost & Found’ Soundtrack Album Announced

Music Box Records has announced a soundtrack album for the documentary Ernest Cole: Lost & Found. The album features the film’s original music composed by Alexei Aigui (I Am Not Your Negro, The Young Karl Marx, Exterminate All the Brutes, Wild Field, The Truth, Silver Dollar Road). Also included are the composer’s scores from Peck’s Murder in Pacot and Moloch Tropical (with some previously unreleased tracks). The CD is now available to order on the label’s official website, where you can also learn more about the release. A first track (Harlem) from Aigui’s Ernest Cole score has already been released as a digital single last month and can be checked out below and a digital version of the album will be coming out this Friday, June 6 (visit Amazon to stream/download). Ernest Cole: Lost & Found is directed by Raoul Peck, narrated by LaKeith Stanfield and chronicles the life of Ernest Cole whose photographs of apartheid-era South Africa and the U.S. in the 1960’s revealed countries vastly different, yet eerily similar. B Original has released a soundtrack album for the French romantic drama Child of True Love (La fille d’un grand amour). The album features the film’s original music composed by Grégoire Hetzel (Incendies, Ismael’s Ghosts, Summertime, The Midwife, My Golden Days, Oh, Mercy!). Premiering tonight is the HBO original documentary series The Mortician directed by Joshua Rofé about the Lamb Funeral Home in Pasadena that took advantage of their clients at their most vulnerable moments in the early 1980s. The show’s original music is composed by Daniel Pemberton (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Enola Holmes, Steve Jobs, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Birds of Prey) and Adem Ilhan (In the Loop, The Ballad of Wallis Island, Avenue 5, The Beautiful Game). Premiering in the U.S. on Wednesday, June 4, is the British TV series Mr Loverman based on the novel of the same title by Bernardine Evaristo, adapted by Nathaniel Price and starring Lennie James, Ariyon Bakare and Sharon D. Clarke. Speakers Corner Quartet have composed the show’s original music. OTIH Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the musicians’ score last fall. Alf Clausen (1941-2025)

Alf Clausen passed away yesterday at age 84 at his home in Los Angeles after battling Parkinson’s disease. The composer is best known for his music for the Fox animated hit show The Simpsons, which he scored between 1990 and 2017 and for which he received two Emmy Awards and 23 Emmy Award nominations. His other scoring credits include ACB’s Moonlighting, for which he received six additional Emmy Award nominations, the NBC sitcom ALF, the ABC/Fox adult animated series The Critic, the CBS sitcom Bette, as well as the 1998 feature comedy Half Baked.
